I have fired 3 people during my manager years before teaching. I hated it and even tho it was very much necessary, I cried before I had to talk with them and after. During the time I tried to be so gentle and was looking for a way to not to have to fire them.
One was caught stealing money from the cash reserve, on camera, no way around it. I still felt bad.
One was constantly not showing up for work was kind of relieved when fired, didn't want the job I guess. I still felt bad.
One was constantly trying to watch girls in the restroom, I did not hire him, was already an employee when I took over ...that one I sorta felt bad, but was relieved when he was gone. Still didn't like having the actual "you're fired conversation"

Hmmm.
1) She fired a thief.
2) She fired a poor worker.
3) She fired a potential rapist.
all 3 deserved to be fired. YET. She feels guilty. What am I supposed to take away from this sad story?
Whats the moral? Even rapists deserve jobs?
Is anyone fluent in Liberal White Whine to translate this for me?

STFU Pam, you have never been in a position to fire anyone. Geez how can even DU stand the lies from this woman?
-
What is the over/under on Pam actually having such a position 30 years ago?
-
Does she cry when she has to fail a student?

Well, considering Pamela's not fifty yet.....

:bwah:
If there is any truth to the story you would think she killed someone the way she talked in the quote.

Ha ha hahaha H5

Pam's "manager years"!! That is hilarious!
Every time you think she has maxed out the potential for lying, she proves you wrong!
You feel kind of guilty, because her photographs show pretty convincing proof that she's the victim of some kind of chromosomal accident, a genetic catastrophe.
She most likely has no control over the compulsive lies, and probably doesn't realize how absurd they sound.
But damn! She is hilarious! Just like Mitt Romney! Her "manager years"!!

My husband is a manager, but isn't allowed to actually fire people. He has to get the approval from his boss. My husband just gets to voice his opinion and state why he thinks an employee should be fired. That's it.

OMG I used to live in Higginsville. Used to manage the Sonic there, demtenjeep
:whatever:

30 years ago they had cameras on the cash registers at Sonic? Really?

Early 80's CCTV started growing with especially with the popularity of VHS on the rise. Although I doubt Sonic would have been using them... I could be wrong.

I know that banks always had them, but wasn't sure when regular businesses used them - especially a place like Sonic.

Everyone who's enjoyed some success in the real world understands that terminating unsatisfactory employees is among the most sensitive and potentially dangerous actions a businessman must sometimes take.
The vulture bar has a whole contemptible subset of lawyers who specialize in suing businesses on behalf of thieving and deadbeat employees. They can generate huge costs even in cases where every t is crossed and every i is dotted. Carelessness can result in bankruptcy.
Any business that would allow a genetic trainwreck like Pam anywhere near the decision-making process isn't just incompetent, it's suicidal.
If Pam has ever been in a position to hire or fire, then I have walked on the face of the moon.
-
When I first started managing people I tried to make them grow into the position. Result was i got walked over. Quickly I learned to turn and burn. Everyone sounds good on their CV and interview but when they start you really find out about them. It is fare easier to just turn through them until you find a good employee. I never felt bad about letting go anybody because it was in their hands to do well but didn't.
On another note, ZERO BONG. I fully expect to see a lot of bouncies like this because of Romney and Bain Capital.

Actually they can't.
When Pam took a sabbatical after winning the 2009 DOTY award, she went onto seclusion not because of the way we treated her but the way her fellow DUmmies treated her.
She would start campfires and only get one or two replies. She then started to C&P her threads in the Lounge and GD. Well, this didn't go over too well with cbayer, who kept locking her threads.

Does she cry when she has to fail a student?
Isn't she a public school teacher

Jukin's absolutely right. Here we go. They'll all be "management material." There will be bouncies about firing Repuke teabaggers. How about one where a repuke is on the cusp of being fired, then, inspired by the DUmmie tale-teller, he magically converts to moonbat, making him a stupendous person and all that? :lmao: Fellow employees clap and cheer and nod in approval. :rotf:

I just threw up in my mouth a little. :puke:

I suspect she has been failing her students for years but it is they who are crying (or will be once they find out how she has failed them).
-

Her "manager years" were probably the years she spent managing the concession stand in the high school gym on game nights.
