Kansas has a plane? Brownstain needed a plane to fly from Topeka to Wichita? Unbelievable
Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback says that a crack in the front windshield of his state plane forced the plane to return to Topeka for repairs but did not cause any major problems.
Brownback says his Beechcraft King Air was flying at 3,500 feet on a trip to Wichita Tuesday the outer layer of the windshield cracked. He says once the plane landed in Topeka it couldn't be flown again until it is repaired.
The governor took a smaller Cessna plane and sat in the co-pilot's seat for the flight to Wichita, where he announced incentives for the expansion of the Bombardier Aerospace's Learjet plant.
"Steve was glad to see that this was not a Learjet plane that I was in today," Brownback said.
The governor also joked that he has been trying to get the highway patrol to let him learn how to fly.

6. a huge waste of money
Can you imagine how upset Pam gets when the First Wookie uses a separate personal 747 to get a two-hour head start on the jug-eared muslim, and score a little extra beach time?

Does anybody recall if Pamela ever found fault with Bela Pelosi and her state-of-the-art 727 or 747, her (R) predecessor having used the equivalent of a Piper Cub two-seater?
Or has anyone by chance seen Pamela praising John Boehner for flying commercial, having garaged Bela Pelosi's flying digs?

But that's different............How, I don't know, but it's different.

Not a chance Coach, she embodies the adage of do as I say, not as I do.

Does sPamela have any idea how important aviation is in Kansas? How the prominence of aviation in Kansas serves the whole country and the entire world?
Have a clue bonehead, the man was doing his job supporting a major industry and all of its related JOBS in his state. That's a far cry from Nancy Lugosi routinely bumping our military brass from their expressly allocated and vital transportation preventing them from being able to do their jobs so that she could play party gal and hobnob with the jet set.

18. I don't care about anyone else's planes, I do NOT think Ks needs one
especially when his budget is causing my district to close schools and make our staff the bare-bones minimum where teachers have 40+ students in the classroom.
He can drive anywhere he needs to get to in KS. IT is not that big or wide. He wants us to tighten our belts, he needs to do the same
::)

That is s-o-o-o-o-o wrong.

On the flat page of an atlas, Kansas seems pretty average-sized for a state; in fact, it looks to be about the same size as Nebraska.
But the world isn't flat, as Pamela might or might not know; it's a globe.
Kansas is as big as England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland combined.
Nebraska's somewhat quite a bit smaller.

Flattened out, West Virginia is bigger than Texas.

I've heard North Carolina, if flattened out, would be the largest state in the union, exceeding even Alaska, but as that was a guy from western North Carolina who told me that, it might just be Chamber-of-Commerce boosterism.
But seriously, Kansas is awesomely big; on the same flat page of an atlas, North Dakota looks smaller than Nebraska, but actually North Dakota and Nebraska are exactly the same size.
Pamela doesn't understand how truly large her own state is.

In CA my daughter had 36 kids in her class, in Texas she had 21.

As long as Pam's school has enough shackles and tasers, they'll be okay.
Her principal is Strother Martin. ("Any man playin' grabass or fightin' spends a night in the box.")

How the hell did Obamanaut make it to over 9000 posts? Once he gets the ax I suspect we will see one of those "my mole ate granite and I'm glad" threads here.

The one time I've supported cutting the fat out of defense spending was when I learned that Bela Pelosi's fancy superluxury airplane was funded via the Department of Defense.
Now, that, I call "fat."
I'm sure the White House over the decades--but more so under the present occupant it seems--has used services, equipment, and personnel charged to the defense budget. That's more fat.
It's true the president's Commander-in-Chief of the armed services, but that doesn't entitle him to charging all these extra items to the defense budget. Personnel, equipment, and research and development are more important than any silly prerogatives of a civilian who happens to be Commander-in-Chief.
So if they wish to cut fat, cutting the personal services given certain people only on the basis of an office they hold should go first. I'm sure it's a mighty big chunk of change.

I'm sure she is so angry because no other Kansas governor ever traveled by plane...
OOPS
http://kansasmeadowlark.com/blog/2008/05/11/friend-of-gov-sebelius-executive-aircraft/
Let’s start this story with a trip to New Orleans to watch KU in the NCAA Basketball Final Four in 2003. Wouldn’t you want to join Gov. Sebelius in this wonderful plane paid for by Kansas taxpayers:
The Governor’s Executive Airplane: N350KS
You’ve got to be a good friend of the governor to attend a sports event as part of Kansas “official business.â€
...
Let’s go back about two years to 2001, when the State of Kansas, WITHOUT legislative approval, purchased a $4.9 million plane to replace an aging aircraft.
From the Kansas City Star, Aug 30, 2001, “State buys executive airplaneâ€:
The new plane, like its 16-year-old predecessor, will be used by the governor, other executive branch officials and lawmakers traveling on official business.
The new nine-seat, twin-engine turboprop had a purchase price of $4.9 million.
Wow, it looks like governors of Kansas have been flying around for a lot longer than Brownback has been there, and our "favorite" Democratic governor thought "state business" meant attending games! :lmao:

You can't argue with Pam. She's dumb... she can't help it. :lmao:

Kansas has had that plane for a while. I seem to remember that Gov. Sebilius (Now Head of HHS) used to fly in it. Where was the outrage then? While the drive from Topeka to Wichita is not excessivly long, I personally think that an executive can spend time better then driving down I-35. Try driving from Topeka to Liberal or Goodman, there is a damn reason that this state owns an airplane. And as a taxpayer in this state, I have no problem with it.

24. Give him a backpack and a towel and tell him to stick his thumb in the air.
If the people of Kansas like what he's doing as Governor, I'm certain he'll get wherever he needs to be pretty quickly. If not, then the people of Kansas can quite literally tell him to take a hike.
Seriously, I don't see any real problem with the state having an aircraft like this. Particularly when aviation is a pretty significant industry over there.
Last post so far. Pam failed to gain any outraged traction in her thread, and she came off looking like a petty retard.

Uh huh.
I said Kansas is bigger than most people seem to think it is.
It's no Alaska or Texas or Montana or California, but it's still a pretty damned big state.

The dem Maryland governor tools around the state in a helicopter. The boy's last year in a MD public school he had over 35 kids in his class.

Hey wingnuts, Pelousi and the Moochelle took mere 757s on their trips. Yeah, so what if Pelousi's booze bill was north of $100k per year on her taxpayer 757 private jet.
As we all know it is different when a donk politician burns through money, they are saving the world.

Many years back the State of Iowa went through 3-5 Adj. Generals in the National Guard because they had been misusing state aircraft for personel business. It looks like Kansas hasn't caught on to that when a DEMOCRAT is in office.
