Really... that is the vibe I at times get...

Anyhow, here is reason number... I stopped counting for OWS.

Youth Unemployment in United States in Line With Arab Spring Countries

Posted on November 14, 2011
Is it useful to think of the Occupy movement more as a “left” movement or a “youth” movement? To answer that question, it’s worth looking into data on the young, particularly as it relates to unemployment.

To leave the United States for a minute, one way people are trying to understand the Arab Spring is through the lens of mass youth unemployment and inequality. Given how high unemployment has been in these MENA – Middle-East and North African – countries, what else could we expect besides revolution?

Things one finds when looking for the actual stats!6

I don't think very many of the Arab yoots were packing MacBooks, iPads, or smartphones.  Just sayin.'

As such, I’m including ages 16-19 and ages 16-24, though I believe they are more likely looking at 16-24.  For 16-19, we are at the same level of youth unemployment for Egypt and well above the region as a whole.  At the broader 16-24 range, we are above Syria and Morocco, which both saw large-scale movement in the Arab Spring.

Ok, can we just sit back and enjoy a nice "belly chuckle" over this one?    "Youth" is defined as 16-24, but this misfit who wrote this article included a nice age 16-19 comparison for the shock value.

Really?

The United States (where it is MANDATORY free appropriate education for every single student -- not just the chosen ones) has a high school graduation rate of about 70%, which does not take into consideration those students who left school and obtained a GED, and/or learned a trade.

Students in the United States, as certainly demonstrated by those in the OWS movement, are students until their mid-twenties (and in some cases professional students well into their 30s).

I am 17 damnit and don't want to work at McDonalds!!!  SHOW ME THE MONEY OR THE REVOLUTION IS A COMING!!!

The uniform vs uninformed is priceless.  Nads still couldn't figure it out even though it was pretty much handed to her on a platter how she messed up.

Ya gots to luv those lazy-ass journalists.

Wait now, the ubiquitous iPhony, iFraud, et al, produced in Chinese sweat shops by the ever loving Steve Jobs Corporation aren't there?  Who knew. :rotf:  Why don't they have these over priced gadgets which serve as badges of honor for the 99%?  Unfair.  Unfair, I say.  Time to redistribute the silicone.   Beat their swords into MacTablets.  :hammer:

Normally and usually, if English is a second or third language for one, such screw-ups would be excusable.

But in the specific case of the yenta, they're not, because, remember, she's smarter than the rest of humanity.....and so shouldn't be making such mistakes.

If the youths would just put down their Xbox controllers and applied for jobs, they could probably land a job quickly at a fast food joint.  I worked at Burger King as my first "official" job other than babysitting.  I was 16 when I got that job.  I became a shift manager at 17.

In Las Vegas, I see quite a handful of fast food restaurants (and stores in the mall) with NOW HIRING signs.  But from what I understand, those jobs are "beneath" people.  ::)

You can't compare American yoots to muzzie yoots.

Except for the 0bamaite Future Felons of America, American yoots aged 16-19 are involved in universal secondary education.

Muzzie yoots don't have education. They just memorize their pedophilia manual and call it education.

Muzzie yoots start off with mandatory 50% unemployment, because their pedophilia manual requires females to be treated as livestock, with no education, no career, no humanity - no purpose in life but subservience and reproduction.

Muzzies are an even lower breed of critter than American 0bamaites.

It's a totally useless comparison for another, less-inflammatory reason:  Demographics.  The percentage of Arab population in those age brackets is massively larger than the percentage of US population in them.  16% unemployment for ages 18-24 is an order of magnitude more serious in Egypt than it is in the US (Not that it's a good thing here, but it isn't the 'Revolutionary' condition those dipshits think it is).

US - Low birth rate, high life expectancy;

Egypt - High birth rate, low life expectancy.

My first job was at an Esprit store in the mall, I got a 2nd job in the summer in the concession stand at an indoor soccer field. Then the manager moved me to the bar overlooking the soccer field serving alcohol. That lasted about a week until my mom found out about it and called the manager giving him all kinds of crap. I was 16, I would have been pissed too if i were my mom.  After those two jobs I got a job as a cashier at an upscale grocery store called McCartneys. I stayed at that job until I graduated high school. I loved that job. My husband (boyfriend at the time) was a stocker at the same grocery store.  Sigh....fun times.

My sons first job was at Party City. He was the embarrassing kid in a pirates costume (with a huge pirates head) holding a sign out in traffic. He hated it. Next he worked at The Rave (movie theater).  He is now a college graduate (5/2011) with an industrial design degree and has interned at Mattel, GE and now Little Tikes.

My older daughter just applied at Cinemark movie theater and half priced books. This will be her first job, she is a senior in high school.  She would have gotten a job last year if we hadn't moved and uprooted her. In fact the week before we found out we were moving she got a job but had to turn it down.
