I went to lunch yesterday, McD's dollar menu, with three friends. It is all we can do anymore, I am retired disabled and 2 of the three have lost their jobs. But we are long time friends, so where does not matter.
Accross from us were 3 tables of senior citizens, all they can do for a lunch out too I guess. But their conversation was clear and (becuase of hearing problems) loud enough for us to hear.
They were dealing drugs, no shit, pain medication. Why?
They were hungry.....

Well I wonder how republicans would feel. Before long these people will be eating dog or cat food mixing it with rice. You watch. Wonder how they would feel then. I just don't understand what happened to a selffish republican party. The attitude I got mine and shit on you. Then they have nerve to call themselves christains.

A couple of evenings ago we had dinner at Morton's, and I overheard old folks at the table behind us talking about how hungry they were.
I was starving myself. I had that Chicago-style ribeye, and it was great, although grossly overpriced.
It seemed to me that everyone coming into the place was hungry. I guess I should be ashamed of America, but I'm not.

Point 1. If this were true, then you (par for the course, DUmmie) would have been first in line to buy some.
Point2. Bush is NOT in power. Obama is. Bad economic news should not be reported. Everything is happy with democrats in power.
Logic applied: Elderly people discussing Pain medication.Senior have medical issues, arthritis...they were likely comparing prescriptions. Seniors today are from the greatest generation, and are far less likely to break the law than people from the sex and drugs generation.
They were hungry.....Hungry people at a restaurant. Not news. POOR people at a restaurant would be news.
Bottom line: just another DUmmie lie, all the more pathetic because no conservatives were blamed.

Anyway, how true, how true.
All those people coming into Morton's, talking about how they were starving.
And maybe it's just me, but whether it's Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Jimmy Kelly's, or The Palm, it always seems a disproportionate amount of the hunger is being suffered by folks in their 50s and 60s. This country just doesn't take care of its seniors anymore.

We don't have boatloads of old people snapping open tins of Little Friskies. It's stupid and hyperbolic. Come on, foodstamps are a snap to get. If you are hungry, you're working hard at it.

I haven't eaten in a McDee in a long time. I stopped in one the other day to buy 16 yr old son a snack to tide him over until we got home. I gave him a $10 bill and all I got back was a few cents in change. If they can afford to eat at McDee's, things ain't that bad.

It is kind of stupid if you actually look into it...I remember looking at the comparative prices out of curiousity after hearing the whole 'Seniors on Alpo' meme years ago. As far as I could tell, canned pet food was generally more expensive, or at least not any cheaper, than any close canned food equivalent for humans (Tuna for cat food, corned beef hash for dog food, etc.), at least in the generics and non-premium products.

Scary. When I need a cathartic I usually go with fast food. Works every time sinced that stuff leaves me faster than fresh corn through a goose. Double cheese, fries, and a shake can burn a ten faster that than the greased lightening it is cooked in. :lmao:

I don't eat at McDonalds as much as I used to but I did notice their prices have gone up. A hamburger is still 79 cents but cheeseburgers are now a dollar. Quarter pounders are as much as a Big Mac (they were on the 99-cent menu for a while) and the prices on all the breakfast sandwiches have gone up. Some days I can't get away with spending less than $10 there so I stopped going. Even the Chinese buffet is cheaper.
