Formerly Great Cities All Over America Are Turning Into Open, Festering Sores
JANUARY 3, 2012 BY BREAKING NEWS

Once upon a time, the people of the United States constructed beautiful, shiny cities from coast to coast that were the envy of the entire globe. We had the largest and most vibrant middle class that the world has ever seen and life was quite good in America. But now all of our prosperity is coming crashing down and many of our formerly great cities are turning into open, festering sores. Unfortunately, we are drowning in so much debt that we can barely even slow down the shocking decline of our cities. Over the past decade, tens of thousands of manufacturing facilities and millions of good jobs have been shipped out of the United States. As our economic infrastructure has been ripped out right in front of our eyes, an atmosphere of unemployment, poverty and despair has descended on many of our major cities like a soaking wet blanket.

Today, many of our cities that once were considered to be some of the greatest in the world have been transformed into rotting, post-apocalyptic hellholes. When you visit many of these cities and look into the sunken eyes of the residents, you almost get the feeling that something has sucked all of the hope and all of the life right out of them. For a while, large numbers of Americans still believed that the right politician would bring them “hope” and “change”, but now crushing despair is giving way to absolute desperation for millions of people. Desperate people do desperate things, and as our major cities continue to decay they are going to become very dangerous places to be.

Many cities are already very dangerous places to be.

"...rotting, post-apocyptic hellholes." (http://www.westernjournalism.com/formerly-great-cities-all-over-america-are-turning-into-open-festering-sores/?utm_source=Western+Journalism&utm_campaign=56b04c1d6b-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email)

Today, many of our cities that once were considered to be some of the greatest in the world have been transformed into rotting, post-apocalyptic hellholes, populated nearly exclusively by minorities. When you visit many of these cities and look into the sunken eyes of the residents, you almost get the feeling that welfare and government handouts has sucked all of the hope and all of the life right out of them. For a while, large numbers of ignorant Americans still believed that the right politician would bring them “hope” and “change” so that they didn't actually have to get a job and support themselves, but now crushing despair is giving way to absolute desperation for millions of minorities. Welfare-dependent people do desperate things when the free handouts stop, and as our major cities continue to decay they are going to become very dangerous places to be.

Edited for accuracy.........it should be noted that these same cities now have vibrant and growing middle-class suburbs.........

So what they are saying is "Don't end the hamdouts because they will become desperate and do something"? Or the cities are the way they are because of Democrate policies?

Both sceneriaos seem to apply.

Why take care of something that you didn't work and pay for yourself.

The soundtrack on this video was taken from an early 1960's documentary showcasing Rochester as a vibrant and progressive modern city. It works splendidly for the remake showcasing the real Rochester of today.

We are constantly fed a steady flow in the local media of one proposed project after another designed to be the one that will revitalize downtown and bring the people back to shopping, restaurants, theaters, etc. etc.
Sen. Chuckie Schumer is a regular player at these photo ops.

What is never said is the real reason none of these wonderous projects will ever be successful. The bottom line is that decent folks from the 'burbs won't be caught dead in the city at night and this is why, mobs on every corner and at least one shooting/murder just about every single night.
