Jon Stewart Crushes Fox News In The 2011 Ratings
http://www.politicususa.com/en/jon-stewart-fox-2011-ratings
By losing 9% of their audience in 2011, Fox News’ prime time lineup now averages fewer viewers than Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show.
According to TVNewser, Fox News averaged 1.868 million total viewers in prime time compared to 2.3 million for The Daily Show.
The audience erosion continued over at Fox News as the network lost 8% of its total viewers and 14% of their viewers in the 25-54 demo. The total number of daytime Fox News viewers slipped to 1.073 million.
Newbie of the year and one hit (gutless) wonder here is excited.
Pssst...one should really read the link though but we will get to that.
The rest of the DUmp joins in writing the obituary for Fox.

25. I hope this is the beginning of the end for FAUX
Even people that don;t listen to the news know more than people that watch FAUX. Their facist, right wing, racist view on life is finally catching up to them. I hope it's the beginning of the end for them.

I think Stewart going on the Fox show a few times was a smart move.

39. I am glad to see these numbers, but
The Daily Show then "crushes" every other cable news network by even greater numbers. I guess its interesting to see the Daily Show leading all news outlets, but being that Fox is still on top as far as number of all news viewers, that is a little concerning.

31. Not fair to compare one show to all of prime-time
They should either compare Jon Stewart's viewers to Bill O'Reilly's, or all of Comedy Central's primetime to all of Fox News' primetime.

40. Let me play the devil's advocate here.
This article might be making an unfair comparison. It says that the Daily Show averages more viewers than FNC's entire prime time lineup averages. That may be true, but that's comparing Comedy Central's most popular show with Fox's entire lineup. Yet Fox's prime time lineup averages more viewers than Comedy Central's entire prime time lineup. And Fox's O'Reilly Factor gets more viewers than any show on Comedy Central gets. I think that the article's author is trying to play a trick with statistics to try to make Fox News look bad. Fox News has better overall ratings than Comedy Central and it's number one show gets better ratings than any show on Comedy Central.
Then there is the claim that FNC has lost viewers when compared to last year. Well, that's true but we are comparing today's ratings with the ratings they were getting last year during the 2010 elections, which where very important to Fox's viewership. And nevertheless, overall Fox had an average viewership that exceeded CNN and MSNBC combined in prime time and for the entire day, and this year's ratings compare favorably with many ratings years in the past although not last year since there was an election last year.
Whoops.

trying to play a trick with statistics
Every statistic can be used to play a trick. I rarely trust one I haven't calculated from raw data myself. And look at those DUmmies just lapping it up. Talk about intellectually incurious. Idiotic, socially-engineered sheep.

Remember when that was the buzz? You have to look at the "test." Question: True or False: Manmade Global Warming is real, catastrophic, and utterly certain. You answer false? FAIL!!! Every question was biased like that. What complete bullshit.

Guess the DUmmies are a little short on critical reading skills. Instead of lies, damn lies, and statistics, it's now lies, damn lies, DUmmie lies, bouncy balls, and statistics.

O'Reilly and Hannity are still #1 and #2 of all cable news shows. The DUmmies just compared Jon Stewart to the average number of viewers during prime time. O'Reilly and Hannity both beat him, I'm sure. Hell Redeye was beating the prime time shows on the liberal networks earlier this year.
-
If you go to the link the liberal article pulled their info from you will find this:
2011 was another strong year for Fox News Channel, with the network home to the top 13 cable news programs in total viewers and the top nine programs in adults 25-54. The network handily topped both CNN and MSNBC in both categories, in both total day and primetime. In total viewers FNC topped CNN and MSNBC combined. In January, assuming the ratings hold up (and there is no reason to think they won’t) FNC will have been the #1 cable news channel for 10 years.

April 2011 Ratings: O’Reilly Factor #1 for 125 Months
By Chris Ariens on April 26, 2011 4:22 PM
Fox News continues its dominance in the cable news universe. The network’s biggest show, “The O’Reilly Factor,†at 8pm has been #1 for 125 months (since December 2000). In both Primetime and Total Day, Fox News beat CNN and MSNBC combined in total viewers. The network was down slightly year-over-year in primetime (8-11pm Mon-Sun): -3% in total viewers and -11% in A25-54 viewers.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've seen "FOX news is toast" posted at the DUmp. They think if they just clap hard enough or post a thought as many times as possible they can get what they want.
-
Stewart is an idiot, and the DUmmies who claim he, rather than Fox, gives actual news that informs people on the issues are even bigger idiots.
Stewart loves bragging about what a powerful media voice he is when people fawn over him, but as soon as anyone calls him out on one of the many factual errors he makes on the show, he retreats back with his "Oh, well, it's not a real news show, it's just a comedy parody show done for entertainment" excuse.

I know. When we were little, my sister and I used to wish we were Samantha Stevens. We grew out of it.
You know, the DUmmies are utterly ignoring the "Banned in Boston" effect. If I were, say, a newcomer to the country, and I saw a bumper sticker (like the DUmmies have displayed) saying "Turn Off Fox News!!", I'd go right home and seek it out, wondering what that was all about.
Such a bumper sticker makes them look like fascist control freaks, and my first reaction would be "don't tell me what the f*** to do."

The Daily Show is a comedy show. It would be more valid to compare it's ratings with something like 'The Big Bang Theory' than a legitimate new show.
That being said, it does explain a lot about DUers and their world view in that they get their news from a skit comedy show.

Yet more terrible news for Fox (http://order-order.com/2011/12/30/media-analysis-you-wont-read-in-the-guardian/)
...The fact is that Rupert Murdoch owns the number one daily newspaper in America, The Wall Street Journal. NewsCorp also owns the number one cable television channel, the incredibly successful and profitable Fox Network. Sky franchises in the UK, Italy, Germany and Star TV in Asia are the pay-TV leaders generating phenomenal subscription revenues. Murdoch also owns the content via television production companies and movie studios. This year Super Bowl on FOX was the most watched TV show in America ever. Even after selling MySpace at a loss, he has dared to launch a new online-only news business, The Daily. Hit movies like Avatar and Black Swan generate colossal ticket sales, American Idol still brings in the ratings, globally Murdoch owned newspapers are still a cash-cow despite him closing the News of the World. In 2011 revenue rose to $33.4 billion, while adjusted operating income increased 12% to $4.98 billion. Cashflow which the owners of the loss making New York Times and Guardian can only dream…

Looks like the DUmmies forgot to take into account that Glenn Becks show left Fox News and that his show was pounding the others in his time slot already? I don't remember them cheering Stewart all that much then in the ratings.
