about what is really going on in the world, or even in their own city. They probably can't name their congressman or senator. They probably can't name one of the supreme court justices. They probably don't have any idea of what bills congress is passing or what decisions the courts are making. Yet, they want to fight each other for a stupid pair of shoes. I just don't get it.

Babies Left In Cars, Shots Fired, Doors Broken Down. Why?
Nike re-released the Air Jordan XIs early this morning, which led to mini riots, gun shots, babies trapped in cars, and lots of blown paychecks (they run about $180 retail). But it wouldn't be a Jordan sneaker release day without a wash of mall crime across the country, would it? Here's a roundup of today's Nike-related crime.
• In Richmond, Calif.: "At the Hilltop Mall in the city of Richmond, shots rang out at around 6 a.m. An estimated three thousand were in line waiting for the new Nike's new Air Jordan 11 Retro Concords. (The shoes, it seems, appreciate in value.) That's when someone fired a gun into the air. According to KRON 4 Morning News, no one was hurt and a suspect is in custody."
• In Atlanta, Ga.: "Police had to smash the windows of a car to get two toddlers out after a woman had left them there to go buy the shoes. She was taken into custody when she returned, according to the AP."
• In Lithonia, Ga.: "...at least four people were arrested early Friday at a mall after a crowd of customers broke down a door at a store selling the Air Jordans before it opened. DeKalb County police told Fox 5 Atlanta that up to 20 squad cars responded. Officers said they escorted most of the people outside but took four into custody."
• In Pembroke Pines, Fla.: "At about 2 a.m. Friday, customers said police pepper sprayed a crowd of people waiting in the front of the line at the Foot Locker at Pembroke Pines mall. 'They're pepper-spraying people, pushing people on the ground, everything,' said one customer. 'It's crazy up there.'" Another customer said police had pepper-sprayed "a little girl."

Subtle racism is the worst racism. None of the DUmmies come out and say it, but all the videos that I saw of the problem areas, the people rushing to buy these shoes were all black. I'm sure they knew this when they made their comments.

It's getting old. I hate all these people who buy things that are beyond their means, then complain about having "no money" a week later when they need groceries.
There was a girl on Twitter who I followed. She bought an iPhone, Nook color, etc. Then a couple of weeks later, she was in a panic because she suddenly had NO money for food. A few weeks after that, she started begging for money on Twitter. I told her to get a job. She doesn't work, only her husband does. So she replies back telling not to say mean things and only speak if it's something nice. :rotf:
My reply to her was, "It's not mean to tell someone to get a job."
I have no sympathy for people like her or these people who "need" these shoes.

I asked that same question myself yesterday! It ticks me off, what percentage are on Welfare? I want to know the answer to that. I buy my Husband new sneakers every Christmas, $29 freaking dollars from Payless! and my tax money is going to pay for these people to buy $180 sneakers? what's wrong with this picture?

People who buy these types of shoes as an investment never wear them. They stay in the box and get brought out when someone needs bragging rights. Wearing them puts creases in the leather and wear on the sole, reducing the use as a status symbol. So put this in your pipe and smoke it: These shoppers are possibly using welfare dollars on shoes they will never wear.

And don't forget, a good portion, if not all of, the initial purchase price was made with taxpayer dollars.
Let me just say something. If someone on welfare takes that money and uses it to start a productive, successful business that follows all the laws and gets them off welfare, I don't care. Congratulations to them for raising themselves out of the situation they were in. That is a justifiable investment in American ingenuity. I just doubt this is that business since it's not everyday that new Jordans go on sale.
