and I'm up. There's no sleep. I surf the net for an hour or two.
This didn't happen in my 20's or 30's. It started around 45 or so. And now I'm an old pro prowling about my house, making midnight snacks, posting on CC...whatever.
So question. Is this just me? Is it an old guy thing?
Am I the only one who wake up and thinks, "Ice Cream would go good right now..."

I rarely if ever sleep - I should be studied by a team of scientists how I can even function at all.
Thank the good Lord for caffeine and green tea!

Nah, you ain't the only one. I blame it on Mrs E's jimmy legs (which is a problem). But her jimmy legs don't explain why I'm awake to begin with. :lmao:
No ice cream, though. That stuff is my nemesis. If it's in the house, it won't last 24 hours.
Been up since 2:30. Dogs look at me like I'm nuts, until I put 'em on the treadmill and start knocking out pushups myself.
Yeah, I know. I'm a sick bastard. :rotf:

I think it's an old age thing. I've always gotten up early 4:30-5:00 but this getting up at 2:00-2:30 is ridiculous.
Drink coffee, eat junk food, watch reruns of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, the early morning news, read newspaper and prepare for the 8:00 am nap time.

I'm in my early 50's, have never been one to sleep in much since my teen years, but am now often up at 3:30 or 4 AM. Usually, if I wake up, I can't go back to sleep...and I'm often better off making do with the 5 or so hours I've gotten. If I get back to sleep, I often have a foggy, groggy day coming up. I'm definitely "sharper" on less sleep.
If I do manage to get a whole 7 or 8 hours, I wake up with a stiff lower back and neck (not age related, been this way since I was a teen.) I also usually also end up with my arms asleep, and sometimes leg cramps, and I think those are age related. If I weighed over 200 pounds, I'd figure they were weight related, but as is, I just blame it on age.
:lmao:
I often have plans for my early morning time, and get stuff done that needs me to pay attention...like the laundry, so I get the clothes out of dryer right away and don't have to iron anything. :-)
Yesterday, I'd planned to make cookie dough and get it started cooling, but someone decided to sleep in the living room so I had to be quiet. Hate that!! :-)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who wakes up and prowls around the house at night. Geez.
When my wife's head hits the pillow, she goes almost comatose.

I'm a creeper. Have been since I was a kid due to jimmy legs. I no longer sleep with my husband because I wake him up kick starting my motorcycle all night. :rotf: That and he snores. Sounds like a monster growling through pvc pipe.
I'm always tired.
The cold weather helps. The last two days I've slept all night. Shocking.
I wish I had a normal sleep pattern. My husband can take a nap and still go to sleep at 10 pm. I hates him. :-)

I dunno. My own sleep varies, considerably.
Part of it is because I'm on no fixed schedule for anything, including work.
Another part of it that I live alone, and don't have to worry about discombobulating anyone else.
Usually, generally, about 60% of the time it seems, I'm in bed between 10 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., but there are significant exceptions.
I'm a very deep sleeper, but apparently a violent one, too; it's not unusual to have to replace the mattress every spring because I've in my sleep kicked out and dug out, with my feet, one end or the other of it.
This is nothing new; it's always been this way.

I've always been a sundowner. Then I had 4 kids, worked night shift, and went to college during the day and learned to get by on 4 hours sleep. Now that everyone's out of the nest, I still don't sleep. Pretty soon I'll be at the point where I can work on the house all night without a nail gun waking anybody up. Grouches. O-)

Been like that myself only I'm either late to bed or up early and can't get back to sleep. The other night I was in bed at 2am and woke up at 4 am and couldn't get back to sleep and had to work an 11am to 7 pm shift.

Let's go fishin'.
