As President Obama recently greeted a contingent of U.S. troops at Fort Bragg with a "welcome home" speech and much media fanfare marking "the end of the war" the message seems to be "we won and the troops are coming home now".
Well, no they're not.
As the C-in-C plays the role of media darling and takes his victory lap for the cameras the bulk of U.S. forces remaining in Iraq are being quietly marched to positions opposing the Syrian army which is massing its forces along its border with Jordan.

Great, the "Boy Who Would Be King" is playing Army Soldiers.

Freeborn, I'm not reading the same thing you are, apparently.
From the article:
As the US completes its final withdrawal from Iraq, American special forces troops have been diverted to positions in Jordan opposite a Syrian tank concentration building up across the kingdom's northern border, debkafile's military and intelligence sources report.
Okay, spec ops guys. Check. And they're in Jordan, evidently.
Iraqi sources report that the American units came from the big Iraqi Ain al-Assad air base in the western province of Al Anbar opposite the Jordanian border. This base is in the process of evacuation as the US military drawdown in Iraq approaches completion. Most of the troops are flown to US bases in the Persian Gulf and Europe.
The article doesn't say or even suggest how many US troops are lining up against Assad and Syria. There are some, no doubt, and it could be the precursor for many more to come. But right now, it doesn't look like our guys are leaving Iraq en masse and heading directly to Jordan.

I have had a lot of experience with the source site, Debka. That site is far from reliable.
Its a rumor mill with a better pedigree than Prison Planet.
Debka has been completely and totally wrong many times. This may be one more instance.
