What is "the site that shall not be named"?

If I knew the answer to this, I' ve forgotten. Since this is kind of the Wild West now, I think an answer is safe.

Thanks.

Hey Wee Willy.  You know the answer to the question.  Stop playing DUmb.

Now that Daddy Skinner is gone, the DUmmies are acting up.  Bad DUmmies !   :lmao:

7. Well, I'll go out on a limb here (so to speak),
and suggest that it's probably Old Elm Tree.

16. Originally, it was Conservative Cave
started by one of Andy's more cowardly and self-aggrandizing stalkers, the one who hid from that Seattle reporter. Now, it seems to be several spin offs. I don't keep up with any of them.

24. It's Old Elm Tree ...
I had several posts deleted on DU when I mentioned it.

But who can resist the hilarity?

Here's one of the OET posts from today:

"I have the feeling that the only plausible reason that the whole "new and improved DU" website has come about is because someone has paid Skinner and EarlG big time to allow the PTB to spy on us. Including the fact that I am assuming the spyware includes that whatever we type ANYWHERE is now recorded due to the arrangements the new DU site has included among its many new features.

So it is not just that we are followed from blog to blog, with the spyware tracing which blogs we frequent. But that our actual keystrokes are recorded!"

OET - because paranoids need a place to post, too!
I thought she left?

33. Yes, I've seen how kind they can be ...
Like when someone started a thread there describing me as a "well known homophobe" - nothing pointed to, or referenced to support that charge, just a statement to that effect. And everyone piled on the bandwagon, "Yup, she sure is." "I've always known that," etc.

Then a newbie there, a friend of mine, posted links to over thirty articles I'd written supporting GLBT rights - to which no one had any response. They simply let the thread with the links die, and immediately started a new one with the same statement about my "well known homophobia".

If you've found an outlet for your articles on education, I'm happy you're getting the word out wherever you can. It's an important issue.

As for how kind those people are, I have to differ. They hate my politics, and that's fine. But resorting to making something like that up out of thin air leads one to suspect they have no morals at all.

You know, I wondered how long it was going to take the primitives to notice they could do this.

Ever since Skins's abandoned the old DU, the primitives have had utter freedom to say what they want.

But that was some days ago; if it took the primitives this long to figure out they could get away with it, the primitives aren't as smart as they allege themselves to be.

Oh I'm sure that things will shake out fairly quickly and our mention will soon be banned once again.

Whoever that was, was certainly cowardly.

As for myself, well, I called that "Seattle reporter" myself; spent my own dime on the long-distance conversation we had.

Probably Skins is going to shut down the old DU at any time now.

Do your screen-captures as soon as you can.

For the moment.

If I were the generalissimo dude, I'd hurry back to the old DU and vent my spleen.

However, probably Skins, Lord Marblehead, and Elad are keeping names, for when the old DU gets taken down and the primitives return to the new DU.  The primitives who mention the site that shall not be mentioned on the old DU, will undoubtedly face some retribution on the new DU.

It goes w-a-a-a-a-y back to the time of the Scamdal.

A reporter wanted to interview me, and once I learned of his interest, I called him myself.

Beth is being senile as usual.

Who has that picture of NanceGreggs looking in at William Shatner in that Twilight Zone episode?  I can't find it anywhere, and it always makes me laugh.

Aw, it's gone.

Yeah, I certainly miscalled that.

I thought when a site was "no longer supported by the administrators," it was like an abandoned house, open to anyone and anything, a chaotic anarchistic mess.

With no administrators and no moderators, I figured the primitives could, and would, run rampant violating rules on the old DU before it's finally taken down.

Apparently someone still enforces the rules there.

Wait, you mean the crew at #OccupyDU2 received an eviction notice and the Sheriff gave the the jackboot?  Geepers how 1%ish of the former owners.  Shouldn't they (#odu2) be allowed to camp their forever. :fuelfire:

The original DUmp is still open for deposits. New DUmpnumber enthusiasts keep popping in, urging the holdouts to come in off the ledge but they're still there, talking about Skimmer's awful new format.

That was certainly an amusing little crusade yesterday afternoon.
I haven't seen such zeal since a squadron of missionaries set out from the Euphoria Baptist Church back in 1967. Though they did manage two bring one or two lambs into the Fold, the majority of the unwashed took their tracts and used them to roll spliffs.

Then they all headed down to the creek and went skinny-dipping instead of getting baptized. As you can imagine, pearls were clutched and smelling salts were called for! Though the deacons tried to spin it, the mission was deemed a failure and was not talked about for decades.

Surely, persuasion and marketing techniques have evolved over almost fifty years. I noticed the Big Guns were here for their Celebrity Endorsement Value, but I have somehow missed the final score. Can anyone fill me in on just how many Heatherns got shown the Light and raptured off to DU3?

(I was wondering about the little cub reporter they left behind, but I think I figured out why they did it.)

1. He started another thread wanting to know about 'a site not to be named'.
I think the gumshoe was trying to seek them out. For what purpose and intent is anyone's 'speculation'.
I checked just to see what became of that thread and apparently that OP was deleted.

15. cub reporter
Would that be the one who threatened someone with bodily harm, was banned, then allowed back in?

How many other DUers were ever "allowed back in?"
