I'm through with eBay

I'm a 10+ year seller with a 100% feedback rating.

About three months ago, paypal started to hold all payments for 21 days before posting to my account. This was no big deal. I could live with that.

About six months ago, it was strongly suggested to stop charge for shipping and to offer the service for free. To make up for the shipping charges, just increase the minimum price. Of course eBay now get a commission on the shipping charges. This was no big deal. I could live with that.

On Friday, I get a message from eBay that they want a credit card on file to give refunds to dissatisfied buyers. That's why they are holding the PP payments for.

Message from rBay:

Attention Sellers:

Please place a reimbursement payment method on file

We show that you don't have a reimbursement payment method (credit card) on file with us. Sellers must have a reimbursement payment method on file to pay for claims under eBay's Buyer Protection Policy. We'll need you to provide this information today to continue listing your items on eBay.

eBay's Buyer Protection Policy generally covers buyers for most purchases on eBay. If eBay has refunded the buyer for claims covered under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy, we'll charge the amount due to eBay using the automatic method you select. The eBay Buyer Protection Policy is subject to change and we'll charge you in accordance with the Policy as it existed on the date of the transaction at issue. eBay may charge the payment method you select on a one-time, sporadic, or recurring basis. You can always change your selected payment method in My eBay or cancel your automatic payment method by contacting us. Learn more about what eBay's Buyer Protection Policy means for sellers.

It's quick and easy to do. Click here to open a new window and select your reimbursement payment method. Once you're done, you'll be able to review and submit your listing.

That's it. I've had it.

2. Interesting because eBay owns PayPal and DU uses PayPal/eBay to process donations to DU.

eBay through PayPal owns Bill Me Later and they have been involved in many questionable financial transactions.

If someone has a dispute with eBay or PayPal or Bill Me Later it probably is outside the jurisdiction of a state's small claims court and there is no federal court process for hearing small claims.

ebay/PayPal/Bill Me Later can uses its nation wide presence to harm the credit rating of a single person but avoid the short arm of the law.

It's interesting how quickly such companies become ruthless financial thugs no different than their ilk targeted by OWS.

3. When eBay bought paypal

they forced you to use it, for which they got a cut. Personal checks or money orders were no longer allowed.

4. Thanks, wish OWS supporters would treat all businesses who fleece customers the same way.

5. We quit ebay about 2 months ago..

We were selling quite a bit of misc stuff and had 100% feedback on over 500 transactions. The last thing I sold was a book for $8.50. After fees and shipping, my profit was $1.45. It would appear to me, that in order to make any profit on ebay, you have to steal the stuff to begin with.

I can't believe how greedy these DUmbasses are!

They want to make profit when they sell stuff to other people.

That's clearly profiteering.

Wel condisering how many peopel have been ripped off on eBay this is no surprise. they are protecting themselves. Recently I bought a replica of the Man From Unvle gun. and waited three month for it to get here. The problem was due to the fat that the seller had made a change to a gas powered airsoft pistol from a spring powered one and that cause delays in making it look right. That meant new parts needed to be made for the grips and thus the wait.

In the mean time I didn't get anyword of this till two months later after the sale when I asked where was my stuff. I was real close to puting in Negative comments nad gettingeBay to get my money back. The good thing was I got and answer and my item by talking to the seller and everyone was happy. However there are many that get ripped off especailly on overseas sales.

Ever since I got jammed up by Stub Hub on baseball tickets (paid for them but never got them) I refuse to deal with them or EBay.

That's an EVIL profit of over 17%! The 99%s that own all the mean corporations would kill for that. The DUche should only earn 5% EVIL profit.
