But only 85% of the sentence has to be served. That's just shy of 12 years. He should have gone down for a much longer time, with the 5 sentences running consecutively and not concurrently. And he's going to appeal the sentencing.

Crying about his family? He should have thought of that when he committed the crimes.

Nonetheless, Illinois' total political corruption will continue as if nothing had happened. However, Jesse Jackson Jr. is probably the next in line; he's being investigated for corruption and other things as we speak. I hope the little slimeball goes down big time.

What a kick in the teeth for Blago.  Guy's only doing what those within The Democratic Party Chicago Machine have been doing for years, but he gets sent up the river.  He's gotta be wondering why him and why at this time.

The current U.S. attorney, Patrick Fitzgerald, is out for blood. Our former Senator Peter Fitzgerald promised he'd serve only one term, and he was true to his word. Sen. Peter Fitzgerald was behind installing Patrick Fitzgerald (no relation) as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and the crooked pols from both parties have been running away in fear ever since.

Sure, he's a rat but he's a rat with a lot of friends. I would be surprised if he winds up in the general population wearing the ill fitting orange jump suit and shower shoes.

Probably more like this~

I can't believe he didn't try turning on other politicians unless he knew it would be a death sentence.

Obama will pardon him as he exits the Whitehouse.

Obama will pardon him as he exits the Whitehouse.

Possibly, but most of Obama's pardons so far have been for drug dealers, even the recent ones.
