I'm thinking of going back to school. Anyone here ever went back to school between the ages of 40 to 50?

Currently in the midst of it...good luck to you

Grow your gray hair long and put it in a pony tail and you'll fit in........
with the old hippy instructors.

Or better yet, cut the old hippie instructor's ponytail off with your ka-bar, and lash it to your ball cap as camouflage.

yes just graduated with an associates in business, and I am 46, good luck Chuck!!!

Started at 36 and finished at 42.
There are benefits! The ones right out of high school assume you're a prof and they'll stop speaking crudely or talking silliness when you come near. The profs respect life experience and consider your contribution to discussions more seriously. You won't have the distractions of where you're going to party on the weekend or wondering if someone likes you. You won't likely have to lie to mom and dad about how hard you're studying to get more money from them. You are probably past the "I can handle a hangover before a final" phase.
It's great!

First I want to say good luck and "you go girl!" to Gina.
Onto the question, I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking about networking specialist. There's a technical college not too far away that offers both a diploma program and an associate degree. If my old college classes will transfer I may try the associate.

I work at the tutoring center for our local college. I will say that I honestly believe adult students are MUCH better students than kids right out of high school! There's a lot more dedication, probably because adults are there because they want to be there, not because Mommy and Daddy said so. I wish both Chuck and Gina the best of luck. Just be sure to take advantage of the many programs that are available to students, including tutoring.

My wife just finished her MA at the tender age of 53, which she ironically needed to keep her part-time job as an adult education instructor due to a state change in accreditation standards. Last degree-granting program I was in was my LLM which I finished about the time I was 40, myself (My third grad degree, and last, 'cause I just don't see any point in going for a PhD or LLD at this point).
I totally agree with cmypay.
