OK DUmmies, all together now....."RACIST REPUBLICANS".
You know what they're going to say, just thought I'd be first.
-
The left wins again.
-
Damn republicans and their morals.
:fuelfire:

I'm not surprised this happened. Earlier in the week when the 'reassess' situation happened, I knew it was over. The way that information was worded made me doubt his strength. Attempting to claim he never considered dropping out and the word 'reassess' was misconstrued was ridiculous and a seriously bad choice by his PR people.
He was my top choice. Now I'm not sure who I will support.

Another "nose holder" RINO candidate selected by the MSM.

Cain looked really promising.

Cain looked really promising.
I liked the fact that he wasn't a life time politician.

Yep we are racists, if we support him, if we don't support him, or if the sun comes up in the morning. :mental:

Like I said before, I don't care who the nominee is (except for Ron Paul) even if it's a RINO, I'll hold my damn nose to vote, but it's The Supreme Court people, Kennedy is planning on retiring after the next Presidential election, he's a swing vote but he usually swings our way, and do we want Obama choosing who the next Justice is going to be?
-
Susan Estrich is on FNC now. Damned if she isn't doing a tapdance on his grave.
-
I hope he sues them all for defamation of character
-
I liked the fact that he wasn't a life time politician.
That is why I won't rule out the GOP doing this to him. Neither establishment party wants an unknown non-politician elected president.
-
My hard earned $25 down the drain!

My hard earned $25 down the drain!
...and Cain would still be in the running if he had just paid $25 for "it".

ABO! I feel the same.

I have to disagree. It was Mr. Cain's actions which led to this by either putting himself in questionable positions or by lacking the will to stand and fight. Tell me which of those characteristics do you prefer in an American President? Conservatives can't just preach personal responsibility, they must live it and lead by example.

I agree. Just disappointed that Cain is guilty of either.

The thing that simply baffles me to no end, is this idea or this supposition that these people -- Cain included -- actually think they can hide or explain away the demons in their closets.
No freakin' way these days. FDR got away with the spin and the games that hid his polio, but those days are long over.
Slick Willie thought he could hide the BJ's in the Oval Orifice. Weiner's phone pics. Gingrich's own infidelities and the rest of the list is endless. The media will not stop these days until they have something, then they'll spin it into whatever they want.
What is with these people? Don't they understand that their characters WILL BE assassinated by someone, somewhere, who will turn over every stone, look in every closet, until those demons are released?
The problem I have with Cain is quite simple -- HIS JUDGMENT. These things cannot be hidden these days.
You want to have sex with someone other than your wife? Fine. Then don't run for political office.

The bad part is that for conservatives, they have to be near sainthood to not get reamed by the media these days.

There was a NRO guy on Fox -- could have even been this morning, but I think it was yesterday, can't remember who it was (just too busy these days to keep it all straight). Anywho, he said Cain ran to obtain name recognition and never expected to get the nomination. He made rather compelling commentary to this theory, which caught my attention. I think the kicker was his seemingly sincere surprise in an interview when he was surging in the polls.

The way the country is now, I really don't care if we have another sex addict in office. As long as he can get the job done, he can worry about his personal life on his own time.
I feel really bad for Cain.

So Billy Jeff is okay by you? Sorry, but character does count.

Re-read my post. I said the way the country is today. Anyone but Obama. I want a business man in office.
-
Cain looked really promising.
Honestly I'm not surprised. The way he whined in the media, I was pretty sure he didn't have thick enough skin to survive.

Concur with Sparky on this one. Personal integrity (and stepping out on your SPOUSE is NOT a hallmark of personal integrity, IMHO) does count.
The "Anyone but Obama" meme works only when you don't have another choice. Last time I looked, there were 5-6 other candy-dates that haven't yet bitten the dust. Remains to be seen how many of those others makes a practice out of screwing somebody else besides their spouse (besides Gingrich)...and the way some of these folks think, that kind of thing really isn't a showstopper.
Au contraire, mon ami.
That kind of personal behavior is high on my list of shit that isn't acceptable, but I have to say that if the only person that Obama had slept with was the First Wookie and maybe his own monkey, Cain would still be a better candy-date. Gingrich too, for that matter.

If cheating on your wife is a disqualifier, then Newt is done. Newt seems more conservative than Romney, but he also acts quite arrogant. I fear we are going to see another MSM selected RINO win the GOP nomination.

I'm not fond of Newt for that, plus other reasons. He's pompous, he's a Washington insider (therefore he's all too comfy with lobbyists and the rest of those leeches), and he loves to line his own pockets. The Ethanol lobby, the glow-bull warming bullshit with the former Speaker Cretin, and the fact that the first campaign crew he had all resigned en masse. Sorta tells the story there, methinks.
These are all minuses for Newt -- they may be showstoppers for me, maybe not. I truly despise Romney even more than Newt, oddly enough, but I ain't quite made up my mind either way.....
-
I have a hard time getting past Newt's "Green Conservatism." "Green Conservatism" is liberalism.
-
I was kinda behind Cain as well. No candidate is a celibate saint, and will have some skeletons in their closet. However ,a good leader shows by example....
