Oh my.
Ho-hum.

So how is OWS evolving?
I know this will not be received well... by some, but it is.
I will use my local occupations. While Occupy San Diego is still somewhat married to 24\7 occupation, no matter what the city does... at this point it is partially a matter of principle since the city is enforcing city code in all but an equal way... Occupy Mission Bay meets once a week, for a few hours, to discuss strategy and tactics. In fact MOST occupations have not been permanent affairs. This city has more than a few occupations.
And this is how it is evolving.
It ist the MOST obvious example. But the General Assembly and Consensus are STILL organic to it.

1. It should be obvious that neither party wants meaningful change, but that's exactly whats needed, it's needed around the world.
We are rapidly coming to a tipping point, if not already there.
In this country we need a new party at the very least, to bring about the changes that have to occur.
Neither party will allow those changes to happen voluntarily.
So, do we really have the numbers of well educated people that are ready and willing to carry out extreme change?

2. Evolving
I think the actual "Occupations" have to be just the first step. Someone said recently that Occupy is the first shot fired in the information wars.
I don't think that's entirely true, because PR has been lobbing bombshells at us for half a century, but it's definitely the first retaliation. I'm interested in this as well -- how is organization developing?

3. Interesting user name
Given that quite a bit of zamisdat is produced these days.
Welcome to du.
And yes it is evolving. I intend to keep my eye and it is not just evolving, but growing.
nadin must be drunk; she misspelled a Russian word that usually only non-Russians misspell.

4. Evolving
Yes and hopefully towards meaningful ACTION!
Ho-hum.

Evolution: ....hmmmm....Conservatives climbed down from the trees. Liberals were dropped from the trees on their heads by their mothers.....several times.
-
It evolved the only way a leftist "movement" will.
From a bunch of crybaby, bratty (trust fund kids looking for a party) group that was annoying but basically harmless to a violent group of anarchists, drug addicts and dealers, sexual perverts and predators and vagrants looking for a handout.
One would think nadin would have known those trends from a long time ago.
They crossed the Rubicon long ago and when the dust settles...well it is a hell of a mess to clean up.

Carl, it's obvious that the script changed on her.

And who appointed these commissars to be leaders of anything?
Another thing. What's up with her three ...? I don't see a need for a pause.

On a meta level too

On a meta level too
I've noticed that after a couple of weeks when "meta" showed up in nearly every nutcase post, now we've gone over a week without a single
instance.
It's reminiscent of her infamous "parenteral" debacle. She used that word dozens of times a day during the "Fiuki" crisis, until it was revealed that she didn't know what it meant. That led to her permanent (5 days) exile to Crazy Andrea's place.
I'm just trying to connect the dots here.
-
Here you have a DUmmy explaining a process that they haven't experienced themselves.
-
Nads seems to forget.
During evolution, 99% wither, die and become extinct because what they evolved into, was worthless.
The OWSies have evloved into a grasshopper with only one hind legs.
Stupid Nads.
Here you have a DUmmy explaining a process that they haven't experienced themselves.
I saw what you did. :rotf: :cheersmate:

8. I will like to adrress this not from her Post
but at a more meta level.
Given US History, if OWS was a group of 500K knitters producing scarfs for starving and needy children, with cookies and milk to boot... it would still be infiltrated.
This is just the way it is.
Are these orders given by the WH? Nope... are they given by the Secretary of Homeland Security? Nope... they are triggered at a much lower level, and well bellow that pay grade.
This is why the FBI infiltrated the Grandmas for Peace during the Bush years, and this is why they infiltrate Right Wing militias regularly.
During the 1960s people who spoke of federal infiltration of the peace movement or SDS were treated like conspiracy loons... and your crazy uncle. That is until we had hearings, which revealed the extent of the efforts, in things like Contrielpro.
Is it crazy to speculate that there is coordination in the post 911 era? No. Does she have the goods? No... but I will offer this to you... well after the dust settles don't be too shocked if she got close to the truth. Even if not precisely in the way she wrote it.
Was this ordered by Chairman King? No... though he might have whispered favors to friends... was this ordered by the Secretary? Not even by the under secretary of signing papers at DHS... it was that much lower.
Some facts, we know.
DHS is a huge federal bureaucracy
DHS is concerned with all threats to the homeland, INCLUDING civil disobedience and disturbances, and riots, Let me see where OWS enters into that scheme...
DHS has been coordinating ANTI TERROR units from multiple municipal police departments... and also coordinating training and protocols. Could they be coordinating this? Well that call of mayors is tantalizing, so is PERF... and anyway, if you all are trained the same way with same protocols same tactics will emerge in the field... that is your lowest level and that is happening.
If there was any coordination it comes at a much lower level than the President or even the Secretary.
To ignore this just because she probably got some of this wrong... is crazy... (and she got a few things wrong) But a meta level it is happening and you will learn of this when the inevitable hearings are carried out well after the dust settles, the same way Contrielpro was revealed by the Church Committee and later in the '76 hearings. I am sure many people who figured them dirty hippies were just paranoid learned a lesson but never apologized.
As I said, if this was 500L knitters it would be suspect and would trigger the same mechanisms... they are set with triggers and it is part of what they are supposed to do... it is part of their mandate, the dark side of it.

12. WTH is a "meta" level? Is it like the loge, or would it be more like the reserved section?
Maybe I'm going in the wrong direction altogether, and it's actually where the field level boxes are located?
How does one get to the "meta" level? Stairway? Escalator? Elevator? Levitation?

13. You should use a dictionary
but here you go
Meta- (from Greek: μετά = "after", "beyond", "with", "adjacent", "self"), is a prefix used in English (and other Greek-owing languages) to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, used to complete or add to the latter.
And I guess I have found my designated fan.
Or it is a hell of a coincidence.
It is a term used in advanced writing.

14. Your words: "not from her Post but at a more meta level" disagrees with the definition you posted.
How could you post a response "not from her Post" and consider it to be an abstraction of her post? How could your post "add" to something you stated you weren't responding to?
If I'm to be considered a "designated fan", put me in the upper-level reserved seating, or out in the bleachers. The cheap seats as it were.
I've known people like you personally. When someone in a group says "I", then describes an experience, they respond with "Yes but I" and add to/embellish their response so as to seem more familiar or experienced with what the original speaker had to say. Case in point... Someone posts about gluten, and your brother is a gluten expert whom you've actually discussed the OP's experience with, but in a different context.
For what it's worth, I might be wrong about you. You might really have done it all and seen it all and read about that which you hadn't yet done or seen.
But it sure would be a hell of a coincidence.
I guess I just haven't read enough... because in all the books I've read, be they fiction or non, I've never seen an author use the term as many times as I've seen you use it here.

Wow. I totally missed that. The nutcase post was one of those long ones I usually skip, but it's a great thread.

Hilarious! A nutcase nadin classic!
-
Damn she's a scrunt.
OWS has evolved into the typical rabble that protests always do.
Here, Nads:

After having read her finished products at the DUmp, it's hard to imagine what a mess her drafts must be,

Hmmm. Evolution.
That's related to the whole "Survival of the FITTEST" thing, isn't it Nads?
Well shit; that eliminates DUmbasses and OWieS from contention, right there. I mean seriously, Nads; Have you spent so much as 5 minutes listening to these whiney ****s?? Sheepskins from some of the most elitist colleges in the world and these ****ers STILL can't land a job that doesn't include asking, "Do you want to Super Size that, sir".
