Some rich people are willing to help..we should ask them to do more..
BULLSHIT..
willing to help?..ask them?
You cannot run a government/nation on charity..or pleas to rich folks to help out.
There has to be POLICY....clear concise tax rules that FORCE people to pay their fair share.
For every Warren Buffett who is "willing" to pay more, there are many others who will "just say no"..
Our government is run by (and has been run by for a very long time) greedy, devious, lying bastards who will do ANYTHING to grab all they can for themselves, and who don't give a crap about anyone else.

One of the major problems in the country is the primitive types seeing those in need and saying "Oh, the gov't will collect taxes (from others, naturally) to take care of them," which means they don't have to get their hands dirty with the little people they claim to support. Such is the case the the silly primitive.
My contention has been that if what the silly primitive says is true, then the USA is doomed anyway. A country whose citizens believe that the primary way to take care of those in need is by force of taxation (redistribution of wealth) is a country whose foundation is built upon sand.

This country ran pretty well with charities handling most of the social needs until FDR came along and decided to make it the government's job. Government can never do as good a job at caring for those in need as private charities can. Government interference and regulation is probably the biggest stumbling block to charitable outreach today.

I'm sorry but in my book 95% of the time LAZY = GREEDY.
If I ran things the food stamp people would be coming to get their government cheese, rice, and beans at a central distribution point. If you want steak and processed foods get a job. That one change alone would save 10s of billions and put a lot of people that are offered work but think their ancient Aztec angry lesbians degree puts that work below them. It would also cut into the high end Nike shoe, gold chain, and 22 inch rims sales.

When you can show me a complete accounting of every cent the government spends and can LOGICLY justify every cent spent then you can start talking to me about raising taxes.
-
Warren Buffet, supposedly 'Willing to pay more,' is still busily stiffing the IRS for about a billion dollars that they think he owes under the current tax code.
Nice 'Hero' ya got there, Leftist scum.

The silly primitive, who's in her early 60s, is a stay-at-home wife while hubby is out getting the bacon in some sort of unionized industrial job.
You know the type, although it is sort of uncharacteristic for Skins's island--the hausfrau who enjoys bowling with "the girls" once a week, and who carefully fixes hubby's sack-lunch every morning before he goes to work. The three sons are now adults and out on their own, but her life centers on them too.
There's nothing wrong with it, but I wouldn't trust her insight on Greater Matters, as she's a flake.

They do realize that even if the top 1% were taxed at 100% that their sad little lives would not change at all, right?!?

It's not about their lives being made better, but about others having their lives made worse. There will always be a top 1% to go after, at least until everyone is in poverty.

That's just a right-wing talking point.
DUmmies don't do math.

Socialism = Misery...and death, lots of death.

Fixed it for you.

Bufffet's not willing to pay more, he's just willing to see a tax policy go in that will reduce those competing against him.
Our healthcare system was about the only thing left that still functioned in a way that allowed it to give away billions in free care every year while still remaining mostly viable, and the DUmmies voted in a guy that's killing it. Uncle Sam has taken over "charity" in almost every realm...which is why the poverty stricken tend to be uneducated, overweight, unhealthy and ungrateful. Great job with that "war on poverty", DUmmies. ::)

India has the Cast system, someone is all ways on the bottom and there is all ways someone under even the untouchables. Has to be someone under the Lepers and there may be a cast system among themselves. Who has the worse case of leprosy for example.
The Libs have no idea that what they want could bring about some kind of Cast system to America. Starts with economics, there will be ramifications to those that wish this system on us, little do they know that it will be them on the bottom of the pile.

Quite the contrary, vesta--they know exactly what it will bring--and they think that they will be in the highest cast (sic).

Funny, reminds me of my Dads saying," want in one hand, shit in the other."
