6 Weeks Ago-Bush Signed Secret Order Authorizing COVERT Offensive Against Iran

Democrats Okay Funds for Covert Ops
Secret Bush "Finding" Widens War on Iran
By ANDREW COCKBURN
Six weeks ago, President Bush signed a secret finding authorizing a covert offensive against the Iranian regime that, according to those familiar with its contents, "unprecedented in its scope."
Bush’s secret directive covers actions across a huge geographic area – from Lebanon to Afghanistan – but is also far more sweeping in the type of actions permitted under its guidelines – up to and including the assassination of targeted officials. This widened scope clears the way, for example, for full support for the military arm of Mujahedin-e Khalq, the cultish Iranian opposition group, despite its enduring position on the State Department's list of terrorist groups.

4. I've had this horrible feeling for months
that ****face is going to pull something in Iran and then prance out of office.
After all, that's what his old man did with Somalia.
Uh.....didn't Clinton have us leave Somolia in 1993? When was the election?

7. Who are the Democrats that supported this?
FTA
All this costs money, which in turn must be authorized by Congress, or at least a by few witting members of the intelligence committees. That has not proved a problem. An initial outlay of $300 million to finance implementation of the finding has been swiftly approved with bipartisan support, apparently regardless of the unpopularity of the current war and the perilous condition of the U.S. economy.
How reliable is Andrew and counterpunch? I just can't imagine how the Democrats could go along with this, and then to keep it secret for 6 weeks.
I ain't buying it.
sure- stop trying to use logic with the DUmp monkeys.

9. Search inside; how do we stop these gangsters?
Iran has always been on the radar. Rather than allow an oil-free energy to develop, the PNC made a plan to obtain more oil. They are all about the money. I wish there was a god, and a hell for those who would sell our existence, but I know better.
If we could secretly drill oil out of Alaska...maybe we should invade Alaska

And when was the last time any congress declared war? And how many military operations have gone on without that sacred declaration? To help you find the answers, see "History: Clinton Administration". Pay special attention to the day Monica Lewinsky was to testify against Clinton before a congressional committee.
Treason? You don't even know the meaning of the word.

War Power Act. Google it. History not exactly being a strong suit for this group of misfits.
Why on earth would we invade Iran anyway?

'bout ****ing time.
They have the blood of US trroops on their hands.
-
Let me get this straight. The libs can manage to discover top secret Bush administration documents but they aren't able to verify that documents concerning Bush's military service are real.
-
Well, the documents on the invasion and the documents they had from Bush's TANG service come from the same Kinko's location. They have to be real....
They have been predicting this invasion for four years now. It was old then, it is not getting any less moldy now. They usually predict it for a night with a full moon in July

We don't nned to invade them. We just need to shut off their own supply of Gasoline and food for aq month or two. Then sit back and watch the real party start from inside.

Actually, Royal Dutch Shell provides 40% of the gasoline that Iran uses. Shut that down and . . .
