Without knowing the exact content of this twit's tweet, I'd say she should probably be allowed to express her opinion of the governor.Although, if she was doing this while at school, or on the bus, or whatever, the school may have a case against her being able to insult anyone...students do give up certain rights while on school property.
Bottom line, there seems to be a whole lot more critical things in the world than worrying about what some teenager wrote.   :p

It read: “Just made mean comments at gov. brownback and told him he sucked, in person #heblowsalot.”

Her Twitter account now boasts 3,000 followers.

The sad thing is, that is considered intelligent debate on the left.

No doubt there are DUmmies well past high-school age praising her for her "courage" in speaking out.  Never mind that it didn't actually happen.

She didn't actually say anything to Brownback, so her tweet was a lie.  Beyond that, if DUmmies want to follow a liar, well, she'll fit right in.

I think the school only got involved because she was on a school trip at the time.

I haven't heard that Brownback himself got involved in this at all, all I've heard is one of his staff called the school to complain.  Don't think I'd have given a schoolkid that much attention, myself.  The whole thing =  ::) ::) ::)

Much ado about nothing as far as I'm concerned.  There are so many more important things to be worried about than a teenager's insulting tweet, especially to a politician.  If the school says she was breaking a rule while on school time, that is their prerogative, but I think it is a waste of media resources to even mention this on the news.

I doubt it would have made news if it had been our former Democratic governor.  The media licked her boots at every opportunity, they'd never have mentioned something that could have made her look petty or foolish...even if it was clearly due to the actions of a staff member instead of herself.  On the contrary, it seems she may have gotten away with actually breaking the law in protecting Planned Parenthood in Kansas from charges that they performed abortions on under-age girls without following the law to report those pregnancies as obvious incidents of rape, and the media chose to attack the AG instead of tell the truth about the girls and their ages.   :mental:  We have our DUmmies, without any doubt.

WTF, since when are students not allowed to express openions on any darn subject???

Anyone here old enough to remember the TV show, " Kids Say The Darnedest Things""???

So now anyone in highschool over 18 is now an adult but treated as a 14 year old???   Very confusing but that is how the liberal  government wants to keep us confused and bewildered.

I hate to say it, but I think I agree with Vesta (God, help me...) on this one.

What.The.****???

Doesn't this governor have more pressing issues on his plate than to demand - through an equally DUmbshit High School Principal - some snot-nosed high school twerp give him an apology for being rude to him?

**** him and the Dog he rode in on.

I'd suggest that we're talking two things here - first, vesta's point that kids' comments are meant to be listened to, but never taken seriously.

Second, D6's point that Brownback should have more important issues than to be concerned about some snot-nosed high school kid.

Third, Brownback himself apologized to the student (which was about the only thing he COULD do to keep from looking like a full-blown idiot on par with the dippy student herself), stating that his staff overreacted. No shit, Sherlock.

Fourth, the school principal is the COMPLETE and TOTAL fool in this case. The kid you can halfway understand. Brownback's staff being insulted at the kid's lack of respect -- yeah, dumb, but not completely idiotic. The school principal? Gotta be a freakin' lib.  :loser:
