Is it possible to be *too informed*?
I guess I am looking to strike a balance somewhere between not walking around with my head in the clouds, oblivious to what is happening in the world around me...with knowing so much about what IS going on in the world that it depresses me to the point where and I just want to throw my hands up in the air.
Does anyone else feel this way? How do you go about striking a healthy balance?
Is it more along the lines of: "Think Globally, Act Locally"? Maybe?
I just feel beaten down sometimes learning of all the corruption and greed and unfairness which takes place and am looking for any tips, advice etc. on how others find/strike a healthy balance.
thanks.
You're asking the wrong people DUmmie. Sounds like you have bricks in your head.

I suspect the "problem" of the primitives becoming "too informed" is about as possible as the problem of franksolich becoming pregnant.
I wouldn't worry about it.
-
The problem is that their "informed" is "Bat shit crazy" to normal people.

Help me!!! I'm so delusional that I think I'm so smart that it's making me sad!!!
Only on DU.

"It's not that our liberal friends aren't smart, it's that so much of what they know isn't true."

Not if you are a regular, non-mole DU poster. No, the problem you have then is called 'Being too misinformed.'
