Okay, folks, I know it's coming, but thought I would pre-empt.
Please post your bean casserole recipes here.
As far as I can tell, there's black bean casserole, vegetarian bean casserole, baked bean casserole, pinto bean casserole, white bean casserole, green bean casserole, string bean casserole, four bean casserole, five bean casserole, refried bean casserole.

It's not green bean casserole without fried onions on top.
Doing your own fried onions is pretty simple. Sliced thick or thin like deli meat, dredged in milk and coated in flour and then deep fried. It's a great topper for curry as well as casserole.
Buy an onion and have the deli slice it for you.

One hell of a good idea Chris, I did not know deli's would do this.
Now as I adore the deep fat fried veges. Mushrooms carrots, squash, green tomatoes and onions, I am not sure if I took a cart to the deli if they would slice up all this for me. Worth a try, they do cook my live lobsters and steam clams on occasion.
Wont hurt to ask on a slow time, great idea, thank you.

I thought "The Bean Casserole" was like fruit cake...a tradition that nobody liked to eat but me?

Oops, this thread never went anywhere.
It used to draw a big audience in preceding Thanksgivings, everybody boasting and bragging and carrying on about this rather odd dish.
By the way, when "searching" "bean casseroles" about the time I posted this, I ran across a soda company--out in Oregon, if I remember correctly--that has a bean casserole-flavored soft drink.

I can honestly say that I haven't eaten bean casserole and that it doesn't show up at our family get togethers.

My thought on the matter is, it's Thanksgiving; there's plenty of corn and peas, healthy vegetables.
If one has corn and peas, why would one want to go through all the time and trouble to make yet another vegetable, the making of which possibly destroys the nutritional value in the vegetable?

One of the best things about a change in plans this Thanksgiving. I am making dinner, and there will be no green bean casserole.

I like green bean casserole, but I can live without it.
I'll just make my own to go with the inevitable leftovers I will be taking home tomorrow night.

Ditto, although I've seen it and loathed it from great distances.

I don't mind the ingredients served separately, but together they don't look appealing.

I actually love green bean casserole.

I gave you an extra Hi-5.

I was right, no green bean casserole in sight today.
Ham, turkey, mashed potatoes , gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing, dinner roles, and for dessert, apple pie and banana split dessert.
