9. I went out and got a pot to beat on. Couldn't find a decent
wooden spoon, plastic will have to do.

I see some people don't care who knows.   :rotf:

I looked for an event in my area just for the hell of it.  I thought I'd Nadin it and be the nooz media for the day.  Got the rig, water, some sweet tarts. I'll go just for pictures and laughs.

I'm so disappointed.

There are no events scheduled within 30 miles of you. Try a search in a different zip or a broader area. Or, host your own We Are The 99% event.

WTH ???  I can't believe people here don't care !!!   This historic event and no one cares ??

:lmao:

"On Thursday November 17th, the two month anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement, we call upon the 99% to participate in a national day of direct action and celebration!"
Direct action= Anarchist/ Communist euphemism for "Vandalism, violence, looting, and rioting."

I am going to fill my car up with gas this morning.

My $40-50 purchase should more than wipe out any OWS shortfall for the day.

I'll pass.

I'll be pumping some big bucks into my local economy this morning.  Going to my Dr. and on my way back I'll pick up some Diet Dr. Pepper and a jug of milk.

There isn't one near me, so I've created one - I'm occupying my desk at work, and using the occupation to be productive and get plenty of work done...I'm listening to Rachmaninov on my M.P.3 player as I work, it struck me as preferable to a one-man drumming circle.

I was going to take a drive to downtown Raleigh and see what was up but then I saw this post on the Occupy Raleigh facebook page.

11:11 am: police rioting, using barricades as weapons against press, protestors.

11:09 am: protestors tearing down NYPD barricades at south side of Liberty Square, chanting: "WHOSE PARK? OUR PARK!" -- police outnumbered, calling in reinforcements.

11:04 am: media denied access past police blockade; coverage of mass arrests censored by NYPD

****'em up! This needs to be on pay-per-view. I can't see this going well for the hippies.  :evillaugh:

It's got everything.  A dude named "Cory."  The pathetic lonliness.  The plaintive plea.  Masterpiece!

There was nothing in my 30 mile radius, either; I had to go up to 150 miles.  Some AFL-CIO dude is spouting off about "crumbling infrastructure."  Sounds real exciting.  Think I'll have lunch instead.

I had to go 60 miles to fine 3 and they had 50, 55 and 72 people signed up...Yep it's going to be a really big day for OWS.

Is the union encouraging people to leave their jobs to attend the "event" or to go after the work day is complete?

Setback in our occupation status…
Posted on November 14, 2011 by One of the 99%

We had to break down our occupation due to lack of people willing to occupy overnight or even stay for awhile as relief (one of our members was there for over 100 hours straight, much of which was spent alone). We are very grateful for the funding, donations, and support we received- including from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office- but we could not keep it going without others willing to show up.

We still have the infrastructure ready- tents, blankets, donations- but we need other people to sign up for scheduled times before we are willing to give this another shot. Please check out our Facebook page and let us know what times you are willing to come down and stay, even if only a few hours at a time.

Please reassess your convictions for supporting this movement as a whole and be reminded you needn’t travel far to participate!

We are postponing Movie Mondays for the time being but have planned a tentative Teach-In Tuesday for Tuesday, November 22 (please RSVP). We hope to resume Movie Mondays after Thanksgiving. As our permit has expired and we have the okay to meet whenever, we will no longer be meeting from M-F 5-9/Sat-Sun 3-6, but will be meeting on an as-needed basis. If you have a proposal for meeting, please post it to Facebook.

I did my Wii Fit test, which I do most days, but skipped yesterday, so I'm going to count it.

And I answered the phone even though the caller ID said "Unknown Name" and I usually ignore those, as well I should.

Actually, it's more than 30 miles away, and it's not quite the Sandhills, but I had to pick a zip code that was reasonably likely to have something.

From what I've seen on CNN and Fox, the deadbeat troublemakers in New York are vastly outnumbered by news photographers.

The crowd seems to be a few dozen hippies scattered among hundreds and hundreds of paperazzi.

1:43 pm: police using metal barricades to seal off Liberty Square; peaceful protestors are being told they are not allowed to leave; widespread reports of violence inside

1:38 pm: helmeted police are raiding Liberty Square, batons drawn; they have closed off the entrances and are not letting people in or out

I think that's where he or she is still at. I really need to go down there some weekday and take pictures.
Weekends aren't any good since the crowd sometimes gets up to double digits.  The AFL-CIO came out to support them with a jobs rally yesterday.  There had to be a whole 20 people out for that one.

I am going to fill my car up with gas this morning.

My $40-50 purchase should more than wipe out any OWS shortfall for the day.

I filled up the pickup yesterday. Guess I'll just ride today and make climate change.

I felt so good about getting gas Thursday morning, that I topped off my tank Thursday afternoon as well.

Add another $24 to my "contribution".    :lmao:
