*"Police said there have been reports of ringworm and scabies at the camp in recent days. County officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment about health conditions at the camp.
Lane said he planned to continue talks with Occupy campers this week."*

AH it is not that bad really. Had the protesters spent $200 a night at some of the best hotels they could have encountered bed bug bites, fleas, and strange stains on the bed spread.
Scabies can be treated but if one encounters bed bugs they take the chance of bring them home and into their friends homes as well. Cost to rid the home of bed bugs is out of sight, Now that we cannot use DDT to kill the suckers, give me a treatable infestation rather then a year of hell trying to rid a home of bed bugs that I paid a bundle to acquire and now have to fork over $800 to be rid of, not to mention having to clear out the bedroom of everything including carpet ,furniture and clothing.
We have up here a low cost housing project that became infested, a night mare for the residence. Only way to remove the vermin was to totally trash and burn the mattresses, furniture and even that did not help. Most of the tenants were and are Senior citizens. Still the problem exists.
These people need to quit their bitchen, camp out doors with no place to bath or inside toilets one has to consider deer ticks, head lice, and all the lovely things that go around.
My heart goes out to the travelers spending big bucks for a Hotel only to find they are up shits creek. Allot of sites on line to check out the expensive Hotels and Motels and No Tells that visitors can complain about.
