Christian Baker Faces Boycott For Refusing to Make Lesbian Cake (http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/christian-baker-faces-boycott-for-refusing-to-make-lesbian-cake.html)
Pro-gay activists have launched a boycott of an Iowa baker who declined to create a wedding cake for a lesbian couple based on her religious beliefs.
Victoria Childress, the owner of Victoria’s Cake Cottage in Des Moines, has been accused of being anti-gay, homophobic, and a bigot after she refused to make a cake for Trina Vodraska and Janelle Sievers.
Childress told Fox News & Commentary that she made five cakes for the couple to taste – unaware that they were lesbians.
“She introduced herself, and I said, ‘Is this your sister?’†Childress said. “She said, ‘No. This is my partner.’â€
At that point Childress told the couple that she would not be willing to make their wedding cake.

Apparently freedom of expression and freedom of conscience are freedoms that belong only to moonbats shitting on cop cars.[/DUmbshit]
Why not make a cake for a Muslim couple, or a Buddist couple, or a Hindu couple, or just a cake for those with no beliefs ???
Seems to me this company is limited itself to serving a small population. Lots of luck , I will have to get a cake with Aztec features next time my Friends from Central America visit.----Not from them----
I can't help wondering just how many of them you have to use to make a lesbian cake.
MMMMMMMMM Lesbian cake.
:rotf:
Made from Soylez Green.
For some people, vesta, principle is more important than making a buck.
Besides, for all we know, Virginia (the wedding cake baker) may have more business than she can handle BECAUSE of her Christian beliefs.
Sometimes, vesta, you don't think before you type. :whatever:
What principle are we speaking of here ? Will she sell a cake to a Black, to a Democrat, or make cakes for a Bar mitsva??
Last I heard in a free society when one has the money in hand and wish to buy an item that is made for profit and available to the public the vendor has no right to refuse to sell anyone. {unless the item is restricted to age limits. tobacco, booze etc.}
Shades of Germany when shop keepers would not sell food to their Jewish customers.
Aside from all that, the cakes look like art work, too beautiful to eat, and destroy. Now I am wondering just what the Girls wanted for a top piece, what the heck do Gays have on top of a wedding cake.???
The Iowa Civil Rights Act was amended in 2007 to include protections for sexual orientation. The couple told the television station they had not decided whether they would file a Civil Rights complaint against the baker.
Now you're starting to sound like an idiot again.
I have a little extra time this morning, so I'll spell it out for you though what I'm talking about is clearly indicated in the OP's link (in other words, READ THE DAMNED LINK BEFORE YOU TYPE, VESTA).
In general, civil rights laws protect minorities (like queers, lesbians, blacks, Hispanics, and even white people, as odd as that may sound) from things like housing discrimination, illegal voting processes, bigoted hiring practices, and even infrastructure like facilities (separate restrooms for blacks and whites, for example).
The civil rights law does not stop a proprietor for refusing to serve a prospective customer. Furthermore, that prospective customer is not prohibited from obtaining a wedding cake elsewhere - in this case, the proprietor made it clear that her own principles prohibited her from providing a service to the two rugmunchers. The fact that they're rugmunchers is not an issue -- only the principle involved WITHIN THE PROPRIETOR HERSELF.
Now, I'm not a betting man but I'd wager a small sum that some jackass lawyer is going to take this issue to an Iowa court. This proprietor is going to have to pony up some money for defending her core principles.
THAT is a complete waste of resources, but is merely another mouthpiece for the gay agenda. You refuse to serve somebody? Be prepared to defend your decision in court.
That's almost as much a travesty as your own refusal to look at the facts, do your own homework, and present your own opinon.
:whatever:
Needless blather snipped -- a whole shitload of it.
So what do we think should go on the top of a Gay wedding cake???

Vodraska told KCCI that she was offended by Childress.
“It was degrading,†she told the television station. “It was like she chastised us for wanting to do business with her. I know Jesus loves me. I didn’t need her to tell me that. I didn’t go there for that. I just wanted to go there for a cake.â€

She wants degrading. Come on down! :hammer: :bird:

I still am curious about what goes on the top of a wedding cake for Lesbians.
I don't know; maybe we could put you on top of it since you are so enamored with these misfits. Or, they could just ask the lady to make a regular cake, and these perverts could go to a porn shop and finish decorating it themselves. Oh, and playing the race card is just retarded.
Are you calling them misfits because they are Lesbians or because they made a stink about the cake?
