Fire extinguisher to go with your Chevy Volt.

2 Volts Catch Fire in separate instances, batteries blamed (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2011/11/chevrolet-volt-fires-investigated-batteries-blamed.html)

Quote
A Chevrolet Volt that went through crash-testing at a NHTSA facility in Wisconsin caught on fire three weeks after the test, prompting action from U.S. regulators.

While the investigation hasn’t been made public, sources told Bloomberg that the fire was severe enough to damage surrounding vehicles. An incident also occurred at a private home in North Carolina, where a Volt caught on fire while charging in a garage.

They're in obama's pocket. Remember - he drove one for a distance of about 2 feet.

Anywhere you have enough energy to move a car there is potential for problem, be it 15L of fuel of 500lbs. of batteries.

The incident with the NHTSA was obviously thanks to damage caused to the battery, but where the house caught fire it could have been something like a charger installed wrong.

I'm not willing to write off a segment of cars because of this.

The charger was installed by the power company...Duke Energy...which has now stated that they will not install any more battery (car) chargers.

This "segment" of cars is being shoved forward by environmental wackos before the technology has been solidified. This particular car is made by obama's (no cap intentional) Government Motors, and his UAW buddies that he "saved" from all things evil.
