Title: Vandals Attack Ronaldus Maximus Statue

Ronald Reagan was the last president to truly represent American values. Only statist progressives have been nominated by either party since the cursed day he left office. In the era of Hope & Change and Occupy Wall Street, this was only a matter of time:

NEWPORT BEACH [CA] (CBS) — A bronze statue of former President Ronald Reagan was vandalized early Sunday, according to officials.

Police received a call at approximately 5:30 Sunday morning about a possible vandalism in progress at the Bonita Canyon Sports Park.

A witness saw a suspect tie something around the top of the statue and the other end to the front of his vehicle. The witness said the suspect then got into his vehicle and put it in reverse in an attempt to pull the statue down.

Officials are floating the idea that this was an attempt to steal it for scrap metal. Unlikely.

I wonder where the nearest OWS squatter's camp is to the statue.

That, or some meth-head thought he could score big at the metal recycler.

Most likely scrap hunters, Hell we have to chain down our air conditioners, our generators, our BBQ grills and put huge locks on outside sheds that hold our tools and ride on lawn mowers.

Empty homes get sacked for all copper wiring and plumbing, some idiots were even stealing the tops of the fence posts from the John Paul Jones House in town.

At one time people in older homes lost was their 100 year old weather vanes to thieves, this was in the early 1970 era when Grandmas vane was somehow missing from on top of a barn attached to her house.  Insurance covered the cost at that time, perhaps $400.00 but that vane had been in the family since before the Civil War.

Scrappers, collectors and what not watch for any reason to gain free stuff.   A serious collector of Regan Memorabilia  would pay a fortune for the head of that statue.
