7. The Huskers really haven't looked too good this season at all
some flashes, some luck, sustained drives once in a while, but nothing to give the fans confidence. Nothing to make BELIEVERS out of anyone.
Watching Bo Pelini fume and throw hissy tantrums on the sideline is the only consistent thing. And I gotta believe that shit ultimately rubs the players the wrong way. So this 'upset' ain't as surprising as, say, the Huskers victory over the Spartans last week.
But watch out for next year. This is a young team -- and most of Big Red will be back, older, more mature, and ready...
We'll see if they can bounce back next week in Happy Valley...they might. But, still...
Nope, we're not going to.
That obscure state college in Pennsylvania's going to pound Nebraska, and win without even cheating.
Meaning franksolich will have to endure twelve more months of razzing by his eighteen cousins who are alumni of that obscure state college (franksolich is the only one of the cousins an alum of Nebraska).
The cousins, like all "fans" of that obscure state college, are not only sore losers when they lose, but sore winners when they win. Sort of like "fans" of the Colorado Buffaloed. Although franksolich always comported himself with mellowness and laid-backness and nonchalance about whatever the outcome was, it always made holidays with them in Pennsylvania not exactly festival.
And congratulations to a fine Northwestern football team.

I'm speaking solely of "fans" of the Colorado Buffaloed, not of the decent and civilized people who otherwise inhabit that state to the southwest of us.
It's a toss-up between who has the most sorry-assed fans, Colorado or that obscure state college in Pennsylvania.
