Maybe it's creepy if you're from Kansas, but . . .

There was another thread there blaming it all on frakking:

OMG we just had an earthquake. In KANSAS!!
I felt a shake and I thought my dog was scratching. Looked over and she was sound asleep. Took me a minute to realize what was going on.

DH was at the store sitting in his car and felt it move. He thought it was the wind then he realized there was no wind and the car next to him was shaking too.

A friend in south central KS - about 250 miles from me - just emailed to tell us his house shook HARD.

Shit. This is creepy.

To be honest, the east coast earthquake had me thinking, "What the hell?" for about ten seconds.

If there were any tremors up here--which there might, or might not, have been, given it was centered down in Oklahoma--well, I slept through it all.

I felt the one about 10:30 last night, the biggest one.  The windows were all rattling, but that was about it.  We're probably halfway between the location of the quake and Kansas City.  It was a little weird, I've never felt one before.  It definitely didn't feel "like a dog scratching."   :rotf:

5.2...

That ain't SHIT!  About the equivalent of someone setting off 500 tons of TNT.

Rattles the windows, makes a few cracks in basement walls, makes DUmmies wet their pants.

That's about it.   :mental:

Waiting for the DUmmies to tie this earth quake to globull warming with their severely twisted four dimensional logic in 3, 2, 1.

They are already trying to tie it to the fraking in the North Dakota oil fields.

DUmmies don't know shit about shit!

They happen from time to time here in the middle of the plate, since time immemorial.  Not a BFD, unless and until another Reelfoot Monster.

This is Nadin signing off on 108.3 STPD! Until next time, stay frosty, folks!

That's what that sentence reminded me of. A radio personality.

Time to update that list again, BG.  :-)

So much for that moonbat horseshit about animals being more sensitive and able to predict earthquakes.

I think that particular bit of nonsense started with the Chicoms.

Okay, so I've only had the pleasure of being in three small earthquakes while living in Wisconsin.  They were probably no bigger than a 3.0.  None of them felt like anything "scratching".  The last one I ever experienced sounded like a very heavy set person walking down the hallway.  I was kind of freaked out thinking some murderer was in our house, but then I realized it was just an earthquake and went on my merry way.

Since last year, the Norman/Jones, OK area has been seeing a lot more earthquakes.  Rather small ones, but still.  If I lived in that area, I'd be buying earthquake insurance.  But that's just me.

I don't see how a 5.2 earthquake could be mistaken for a "dog scratching"  ::)

She might have a waterbed.  If the dog was scratching in the bed, it would shake the bed making it feel like an earthquake... I presume?  I don't have a waterbed or a dog.  I wouldn't know for sure.  :rotf:

No - I suspect it will be the super-volcano theory that pops up again - and that its warming up to destroy all of the Midwest just in time for 2012....
