Poll question: Who else is closing a bank account November 5th?
I have taken my money out of my BOA account already and I just emailed HR the form to switch my direct deposit to my new account.
I hope to be one of many walking in to close their accounts on November 5th.
As far as I'm concerned BOA practically declared war against the US taxpayer with the 75 trillion in debt they transferred.
Taking our FDIC insured money out of BOA is the only way we can protect ourselves.
Poll result (18 votes)
I am with a major bank and will be staying (4 votes, 22%)

I am with a local bank or coop already (10 votes, 56%)
banks?!? I keep my money in the ice box. (0 votes, 0%)

3. I went with WF after Wachovia sold out. No problems and a very good online customer service. Many conveniences offered. So far, as dubious as I have been, no complaints. I did send the message that if they started to charge me for using my debit card I would be gone. So far so good.

2. I *almost* wish I had an account with a big bank to close on that day but I've been doing business with credit unions for over 30 years.

4. Other: I have accounts in several places, and all will be staying put.

How do you transfer an overdrawn checking account?
And I guess it makes perfect democrat sense to leave a big bank, with free ATMs all over the place, and use a small credit union.
Now you pay two or three bucks for every ATM withdrawal, but you save the lousy four bucks a month.

And those ATMs are generally owned by . . . big banks! :fuelfire:
They always get their money out of primitives. Every last cent, it would seem.
-
Now you just make sure that you go put your money in one of those NON-F.D.I.C banks, E.D. It's the only way to go.
-
I can't wait. The primitives are going to "Anne" themselves right out of any kind of bank account.

They (Wells Fargo) will be charging you $5 a month for using your debit card. You can thank your lousy democrat(ic) policies for these charges.

Thank goodness they explained the significance of Nov 5th. Must be a benefit of being a member of a hive mind not having to explain lefty crap to one another. They just know. :o

Wouldn't the fifth of the month be one or two days after their welfare checks cleared?

I believe so.

It's like Neal Bortz used to say about libs and ATM fees, if only they got as upset about taxes as they do ATM fees.
-
JohnnyReb doesn't pay debit card fees...he uses cash and doesn't leave home without it. :-)
-
Good to know about Nov. 5th, I was planning to close my BOA acct before those fees started as well. My reason is not in protest, but because I don't need them anymore. USAA finally opened a branch here in Fayetteville, so I no longer need BOA to be able to deposit checks. And USAA refunds any ATM fees I pay, and has stated they will not be doing the $5 POS fee.

Looks like four DUmmies will be closing their Christmas Club accounts. That'll show 'em.
-
Go ahead DUchebags. The reduction in administration costs of chasing up your overdraft will just add to the profit of big banks.
-
I had to go into the bank last week, and while I was there the teller told me that my account was going to be charged a fee beginning in November, and then they were more than happy to help me find an account where I would be able to meet the requirements to avoid the fees. I have to keep a $500 minimum balance in my checking account to avoid the fee, but if it does drop below that it is only $3.00 fee per month so it won't break me.

November 5 2011? Are there places that still have banks open on a Saturday?
-
Most of the ones here are open from 9-1pm.
-

Yeah, 8:00 to noon in OK.
-
I've never known of a bank that didn't open on Saturday mornings.
-
Bank of America put out a press release this morning stating that due to DUers moving their accounts, deposits are down $2.38 and that they expect a drop of about $1.2 million in late charge fees for the next quarter.
-
Sounds like November 5th may go down in urban lore as "Rob a stupid hippie" day.
Banks are pretty safe. Nearly all the ones who actually have any money aren't allowed to touch the trust corpus, and the rest of them have to keep the accounts open for direct deposit of their benefit payments.

reminiscent of the post ProudDad made a few months ago where he said he was almost tempted to get a job so he could participate in the national strike the DUmmies were trying to organize.

The significance of November 5th prompted me to do some research. Apparently the day chosen by the primitives to withdraw funds, November 5th, is the same day that the sack of dog squeeze Guy Fawkes and his cronies tried to blow up the house of lords. Figures.

I work as a consultant for BofA. The big concern is the drop in over draft fees. New fees will be imposed to cover these losses.

They don't pay taxes.

Yeah, 8:00 to noon in OK.
We haven't had one open on Saturday in ages around here.
-
How many of them even get out of bed before noon on a workday, much less a Saturday?
This is going to be hugh, series!!!11111
