It's in the works. A massive Occupy Wall Street gathering with delegates from all over the country. And if these plans are carried out, Occupy Wall Street will be a major force to be reckoned with on Election Day 2012.
The date? July 4, 2012.
Put aside questions of whether or not the movement will survive that long. Imagine that they do, because they have no doubt.
If only our economy had that kind of confidence.

How cute they think they are going to actually shape an election.

From a different thread, I think.

In their list, however, they close with one last warning: if Congress, the President and the Supreme Court do not act on the settled grievances the movement eventually comes up with, its members are prepared to form a third, independent political party to run in every Congressional seat in 2014 and 2016.

This won't happen before the 2012 elections. Their third party would sink the DemonRats.

On 2012 Election and OWS
Edited on Tue Oct-18-11 10:12 PM by steelmania75
So basically the Occupy Movement is organizing a huge convention where they will nominate people to run for Congress on July 4, 2012. How successful do you think the candidates from OWS will be against Dems and Repubs? This could potentially reshape Congress and government as we know it. OWS could be very successful in not only taking many votes from the Democratic base, but from a huge portion of Independents, any remaining moderate Republicans, and attracting a larger percentage of voters(such as that 20% of voters who basically have given up on the two-party system and are waiting for a third party like OWS to arrive). Overall, what are your opinions on OWS's plan?

By election day, most folks will have long forgotten about OWS.

It would be sweet irony if this temper tantrum movement could get candidates together by 2012 and help put the GOP in power. :lmao:

By shape they mean still voting for Obama and turn independents to the GOP because of their boorish behavior.

Will the anarchists participate?
This could be the PPV of the century! Imagine the floor fights between the communists and nazis, the rapists and the druggies. Can I vote for these "delegates" or will they be "appointed" by some insular committee?

OWS? Aren't those the birds that hunt at night?

Duuuudes, you have to do it, just have to.
It will be better than anything on television.

Yep, the video spills it all. Protesters have communist goals, they use the language but will not say the c-communist word.
-
I couldn't get past 4 minutes in that video. It's obvious they've been given talking points by someone and they still keep getting them screwed up. They have no clue what they're talking about, why they're there or how they're being used by this administration. No clue whatsoever.
-
If it happens, I hope they pick some deep-Blue city that's already destroyed, like Detroit, because all the irresponsible morons, anarchists, and criminals it'd draw will completely trash the host site.

It would also enable the Republican candidates to save a fortune on making campaign ads. All they'd have to do is show footage of all the repulsive, lawless freaks that would make up such a convention, then end by saying something like, "Behold, the faces of the American left, and people who voted Barack Obama into office."
-
If the losers happen to keep the movement going for another few months, and then come back next summer, they will have long since worn out their welcome with business owners and the public by election day. Then, hopefully, the Republican candidate will remind people that Obama, the Nazis, Communists, etc., backed them.

Oh it's just a big cluster F.

23. Unrec. This is not from the NYC General Assembly but from some group that
claims they are a working group of the General Assembly but they do not appear anywhere on the working group list.
Who can keep any of this straight? :mental:

32. Predictions for Election Year 2012
1 - The Tea Party will include "We are the 53%" and "The US is capitalist, not socialist," into its agenda.
2 - Tea Party support will rise.
3 - We the People will be more divided than ever.
4 - 2012 will be the ugliest and most dangerous election year on record.
-
ETA kctim's take:
Hey, neighbor over the hills and plateau, I can't say that I disagree with that primitive's thoughts.
-
I would donate hundreds of dollars if this were to come about. It would be like multiplying my donations to a conservative candidate by two orders of magnitude. The OWS party would kill the socialist democrat party.
-
Hey, neighbor over the hills and plateau, I can't say that I disagree with that primitive's thoughts.
Well...generally, yeah, but as to #4 on the danger, it isn't really going to be a patch on 1860.
-
OWS? Aren't those the birds that hunt at night?
Don't know about that. But the spotted variety is pretty good eating. Tastes like chicken.

These people make me have visions of a "final solution", as callous as that may sound.
