Racing has lost a great driver today.
Indycar driver and 2011 Indy 500 winner Dan Weldon was killed today at Las Vegas Raceway in a horrible 15 car crash on lap 12 of the last race of the Indycar season.
Dan died at the University Medical center in Las Vegas, with his wife, his 2 young sons, and his 3 brothers at his side.
In tribute to Dan, the remaining 19 drivers decided to cancel the race, and had a 5 lap, 3 wide parade in honor of him.
RIP Dan. You will be missed. :usflag:

God speed, Dan.

Every time I've ever seen any sort of interview with him he always seemed like a good guy, but you know things aren't always like the seem. Based on the number of men crying at that race this must have been a case where he was indeed the good guy that he portrayed.

I tuned in to the race right after the accident. I saw a replay and didn't think anything of it until they mentioned it. It didn't look any different from the dozens of accidents I've seen in racing but it was over so quickly it was hard to tell. :(

My sympathy and prayers for his wife and family.
