Some basic truths about the 1%.   Updated at 12:26 PM

They rely on division to keep their hold on power.

They depend on misinformation and the corporate media.

They are confident in their ability to buy the politicians they need to maintain the status quo.

They are not overly concerned with the "occupations" at the moment.

They are a patient bunch of scoundrels.

They will not surrender their power without a fight.

They are greedy and have no respect for our Constitution or the rights of free speech.

They are very good at propaganda and demonizing their opponents.

They don't give a big shit about the conditions of the 99%.

Note to Frank, this was what I accidentally posted in breaking news.

Kentuck just described unions, yet they aren't bothered by unions being an arm of the democrat party.

Maybe we should just put the Koch brothers, George Soros, and Richard Trumka in a boxing ring and get this whole thing over with now.

I have a question about this DUmpmonkey obsession with "the 1%".

How can every little village of 5000 people have 50 of these moguls? Where do they hide all those mansions?

Some basic truths about the 1% for DUmmies to ponder...

Quote
The top 1% of tax payers is roughly 1.4 million people.  To qualify for the “top 1%” group, you’d have to earn roughly $385,000 AGI annually.

What you should know is that the top 1% of income earners paid a total of 38% of all individual federal income tax revenue ($410,898,035,220.00 or $411 Billion of 1.1 Trillion collected in individual federal tax revenues for 2008).

Now if you take in the top 50% of income earners (which includes both the top 1%) They paid 97.3% of all individual federal income tax revenues.  If you take out the 38% of all revenues from the top 1%, the remaining 49% of top 50% earners… pay 59% of all individual federal tax revenues.  And who are these dastardly high earners of the “above average earners”?  Why they’re the folks that earn somewhere between $384,000 and $33,000 (that’s not a typo, that’s $33,000).  If you earn $33,000 you’re part of the “above average pay” crowd.  Maybe we should be taxing you more too right?   And what of that bottom 50% that pays only 2.7% of all individual AGI tax revenues?  They(about 70 million) contribute to 12.75% of all reported taxable AGI (which is $720Billion of the 5+ Trillion of taxable AGI in 2008).

Greedy, as defined by the DUmmies, is having more than they do, and not wanting the govt to take every penny from you.

I have a question about this DUmpmonkey obsession with "the 1%".

How can every little village of 5000 people have 50 of these moguls? Where do they hide all those mansions?

The real genius of the famous Niemoller quote is not emphasis on who they came for first or in what order, it is that nothing was done until it became to late.  You example of the village is quite correct.  Once you allow the class warfare ( scape goating by any other name ) to begin against the top one percent where do you stop? In NH (richest state in the union by some standards) dentists make on average of 200+K per year which would put them in the top 1% of any NH village.  That they may also have large debt and expense is of little consequence if you only look at the top 1% of that village.  Thus dentists are the problem.  Or doctors, or lawyers, or independent electrical contractors, anyone who has more than the 99% is the problem in that village.

Simple?  Well yeah, that is what these folk are.  They would drown in a tea cup of thought, but like the masses at a Hitler rally, thought is not required, only the ability to parrot the correct line and identify the target of their misguided angst.  Educated in the public conformity factories they have little use for individual thought.  These are the people who truly believe 2+2=5.  They are the 99% in that regard.  Poorly educated and easily led they would have been the grunts on the factory floor.  That they cannot transition to today's technology is not a surprise given the way public education (and other institutions) has been eroded ( dumbed down ).  Is it all some grand plot to subvert America?  Could be.  Is it possible  McCarthy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_McCarthy) was right?
