Yeah, it only took us from a hardscrabble, agrarian society with a life expectancy of 35 years to an age where even those at the "poverty" level have computers and air conditioning and top-flight medical care at the touch of a cell phone.
Damn that capitalism!

Maybe because the middle class realizes who they actually get jobs from? and they sure as heck aren't you guys protesting.

The protestors do provide an elegant demonstration of the futility of their own chaotic alternative.

10. Please also ignore the 53% meme
It's just another tool for them to attack us with and who the f*ck verified that bullsh!t number.
Don't give it validity by responding to it. It's a lie!

Yes, and 99 is such a vetted and verified number.
Coughsnot, go read the OP's title sonny, and apply to yourself.

But what demonstrations like the Obnoxious White Shirker crowd do is to drive lots of independents into the "R" column, even if only for one election cycle.

How come I don't get stuff like that in my email?

Love the obama one.
Don't know why the DUmmies would hate it. Everything's true.

I believe that the figure 53% is from the IRS, one of your vaunted gubbermint departments. It is derived from the mathematical equation of 100% of US population minus 47% of which pay no taxes equals 53%.
I AM THE 53%.

The only thing I would have done different on the Obama one is include all of his names instead of just BO.

1. Ouch.
Never underestimate the gullibility of lower- and middle-class conservatives siding with their rich overlords over their own economic self-interests.
There's that "self-interest" thing again. ::)
-
DUmbass, you haven't a Damn clue what's in anyone's "self-interest." So stfu.
-
Maybe it's because some middle and low class people have ambition and aspirations of being rich, and don't want the government putting in place barriers to competition and opportunity that the current rich enjoyed on their way to realizing their dream. It's part of the reason I despise the hypocrite Warren Buffett. He has his money, won't pay the IRS back taxes, talks about how he isn't paying enough, refuses to voluntarily write a check, and favors legislation that would prevent others from having the same system opportunity that he took advantage of to make his money. I don't care how much money someone has, I just want the same opportunity to achieve the way they did, and the government is constantly seeking to limit this.
And the democrats think that they're the ones who champion the poor and middle class? Their legislation ensures that more and more people STAY poor and in the middle class.

They're starting get upset with the chosen one though...

17. your response is probably not the best way to unite the bottom 99%
or even enlarge the anti-1%.
I agree about the Obama part. It's a sad truth that he has not represented the bottom 80% either, which is why he needs to be primaried. Republicans hardly offer an alternative.
Leaving aside that fact that primary here is an adjective frequently treated as a noun.
Skittles
18. Obama is part of the REASON for OWS
so I'm not sure why they're using him
geek tragedy
21. OWS protestors would largely agree with the second picture.
Their only objection would be the "I grew up outside the United States" part.
Alas poor Obama.

The problem with you people is you can only imagine a life where someone rules over you. It's either "evil" corporations or "benevolent" government. The fact is, regardless of who you think should be in charge, it isn't YOU. When you convince yourself someone else is in control you don't have to take responsibility for yourself. Bad financial choices? Banks & Wall Street. Can't find a job? Evil corporations. Lost your house? Greedy mortgage companies.
But let's say all your dreams of a government daddy come true. Do you really think the government is going to pay off your debts and bail you out every time you overspend? You're more of a number to them than you are to those evil banks. Banks at least have to compete for your business. Once government owns you they throw you whatever little crumbs they want. Of course at this point they've got you so brainwashed they'll still convince you the fault lies with someone else. Daddy government would be happy to dole out a monthly allowance to you so you don't have to get a job. It'll never be enough to thrive, only to survive. They own you. And despite how they'll keep you down they'll still convince you something outside their control is to blame. And you don't have to look in a mirror.
I don't have nor do I need an overlord. Why the heck do I care what someone else earns? I don't think I could tell you the salary of even one Wall Street (or K Street) executive because it has absolutely no bearing on my life. And even if you got everything you wanted you'd still be miserable. You'll just transfer your anger and envy to another group. Maybe shampoo companies.
