Harsh truth time: It must be said: OWS will accomplish nothing.
It's a great start for sure. The premise was great but the execution was bad and disorganized and most importantly lacked central leadership. It's time for Plan B:
If we really want to accomplish the real change we were promised in '08, what we really need to do is focus on taking back the media. For four decades now the huge right-wing slant in our media - it started with Limbaugh, and spread to Fox News and beyond, has gone for that long unchallenged and unpunished. And the damage that the lies spewing from the pundits have caused will make America unrepairable. We even saw their ugly RW side during the beginning of OWS when they wouldn't talk about it and continued focusing on the tea party's flavor of the month. It's like a game of chess - the media is their king and they've seized control of it and refused to let go.
The simple fact is we need to take back the media. Then we can focus on taking back Wall St.
"Unpunished"?
Here's some news you can use, you little fascist ****, we don't punish people for having different opinions. You vagrants cry about being ejected for vagrancy pretending you have been denied your 1st Amendment rights then you say this shit.
You pissant rope-pissers have failed because you are failures. Like begets like. If art majors could get real jobs you wouldn't be sleeping in the streets bitching about not having a real job that paid good money. The reason you can't get a real job is because you do not know how to do anything useful...like organize a going concern.
This should be your first ****ing clue but your teachers only taught you how to be angry little cloned drones, not instrospective.
And if you're going to bitch about bad information infecting America's political discourse you might want to realize you overestimated Limbaugh's presence by about 30%.

24. No, we haven't.
The number of people who get their "news" (if you want to call it that) from Twitter is small, and mostly limited to people self-selecting the kind of "news" they want to hear. The net result? People on the left living in their own self-created media information bubble, kind of like the conservatives watching Fox, and the vast majority of Americans still getting their information from CNN and NBC Nightly News.
There's a term for "self-selecting" He-Who-Jerks-Off-to-Maddow-and Moore. It's: FREEDOM

Politically, legally and I fear physically as well.

9. I imagine we often confuse our own prognostications and opinions
I imagine we often confuse our own prognostications and opinions with absolute truths and statements of fact.
I think it's because we often want to believe our own unsupported agendas and opinions so much, we convince ourselves that anything that does not run absolutely parallel to them should be dismissed and denied without thought.
Ya think?

27. Would love to work toward a law like the one Canada just passed
Disallowing false and misleading news programming. So funny that FOX opted out rather than operate under that restriction.
That's what we need here.

I think the only way we can kill the Left's thirst for censorship is to prpose the laws ourselves.

I love how their lives are totally ruined, just because Rush Limbaugh is on the radio. Maybe if their beliefs weren't so wrong they could stand up to being criticized.

I don't know this poster's history so I could be wrong in this call, but this kind of clarity and introspection is something a true liberal is incapable of. Mole.

They consider '88-2011 4 decades? :lmao:
Yeah yeah, I know. 80's, 90's, 00's, and 10's, but still. 4 decades?

So they still control about 90-95% of the media.
They need to 'take it back'??
Take it back from what? From a total black out of alternate news and information sources?
We have a couple of outlets ... while they ... they dominate everything else from the MSNews media to Hollyweird to the Music Industry to Sportscasting to our University Professorships - in large part, as well as our Public indoctrination system (Public Schools).
Will these people ever be happy w/o totalitarianism (absent a constitution), an oligarchy with them in charge?

Should the title be: "22 decades of the First Amendment brought us to this?"
Essentially, the DUmmies are angry that not only does someone hold an opinion different than theirs, but that there is nothing they can do to stop him from voicing it.
Probably 7 or 8 decades of public schools brought us to that.

That was the first thing I thought when opened this. Only a DUmmie using hyperbolic rhetoric could make 4 decades out of the very end of the 80's, and one still in the infant stages.
By this logic I've lived 5 decades...and I'm 31.

Math isn't exactly the DUmmies strong point. They believe 1+1= potato.

The best part of a Free Market society is one can set up a competing venture, and the one with the most appealing message will 'win' - Oh wait, you tried that already, didn't you ?
Then why isn't Limbaugh et al marginalized by your mighty progressive message ? If you build it, they will come, right ? And don't give me that crap about 'right wing' controlled media -- If your side was capable of generating revenue, your message would be spread far and wide.
The thing is - nobody is interested.

I remember Air America. It was supposed to be an instant hit.
Eloquent commentators did not materialize and those who did speak merely raged into the microphone for 12 hours.
--Seriously. Who wants to listen to 12 hours of outrage and bit-ching? Anyone would turn that off. Hence, the great liberal talk machine failed.
Contrast with Rush who uses comedy and humor in his show. Even frothing at the mouth libs can listen to him.
and now unwashed idiots living in the streets are becoming the poster children for the democrats...Is the DNC stupid? Yes. Progressive-ism and socialism are not know for the great minds attached to them.

They give each other awards to try and create the illusion of smarts. See the Nobel Peace Prize which is clearly nothing more than a "most popular lefty among leftists" award.

Now I know the reason why AFRTS carries more NPR/Ed Schultz/etc, as opposed to Rush.
If I had to listen to the former group for 12 hours a day, I'd want to go out and kill everything I saw too.
