Is DU serious about enforcing the rules against blatant bigotry, or not?
This thread is a horrifically bigoted insult against both religious people (by claiming that they are severely mentally ill and prone to gouging out their own eyes because "religion tells them to" - never mind that I don't know of a single religion on Earth that advocates its followers gouging out their own eyes) and the mentally ill (by implying that they are just religious zealot freaks instead of sick people who need medical help).

Not to mention that this thread has attracted such lovely posters as the one who told me to "literally **** off and die." If that is not a bannable offense, please tell me explictly why not - and if that member does not receive even a warning, then please, explain that to me too. Is "literally" (in his words) advocating the DEATH of a fellow DU member now acceptable? Or only if said DU member disagrees with him about religion?

I need to know that you are going to start taking these kinds of heinous and ugly bigoted statements seriously and actually make an effort to lock and delete these posts. If you have no intention of doing so, then please, disable my account immediately. I have absolutely no desire to post at a website that equates severely mentally ill sick people with religion and whose members tell me to literally **** off and die because I dispute that kind of terrible "logic."
I'm just guessing, but I suspect it was the intolerant bigoted mike_c primitive who made the offending comment.

If the person who posted it had tried to claim this was typical behavior, then you might have a point. But I think the phrase "on steroids" suggests that this is an extreme and not typical case.

And that's bigoted because no religion teaches people to gouge out their own eyes. But I guess bigotry against religion is a-okay, here.
Also, why didn't you respond re: the poster who told me to literally **** off and die? Is that okay, now? Why hasn't that poster been banned? The post got deleted, yes; big whoop. The poster still told me to **** off and die, and he's still here. People have been banned here for a LOT less.
Yeah, it must've been the narrow-minded mike_c primitive who said that.

Well, since "bigot" and "racist" have been redefined by the left to include any and all people who disagree with the left, yes, DU is serious about removing bigots. In fact, conservatives and republicans are not even allowed to register there openly.

I'll bet it was the mike_c primitive who made the referred-to bigoted comments.
Some time ago, in this same forum, "Ask the Adminstrators," the mike_c primitive asked Skins why he (mike_c) couldn't bash and name-call religious believers, because as a rational (sic) and logical (sic) thinking person, he (mike_c) was entitled to bash and name-call those not as bright as him.

Oh they are very serious, very serious indeed. The Dump denizens are the most bigoted people I have ever had the misfortune of reading. They are funny though in an ironic and hypocritical vein.
