Title: ***two ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM franksolich*** (update 10-13)
Post by: franksolich on October 11, 2011, 08:10:43 AM
Number one, I've moved Mr. Mannn's live thread on the occupoopers of Wall Street from "General Discussion" to "Mind-Numbing Stupidity," and stickied it to the top there.

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,64405.0.html

I'm not God, much less nadin, but it seems to me this charade is dwindling down to a farce, and something's likely to happen soon, to scatter the kiddies and hippies to the winds.  I have no idea what--the weather?  the police finally enforcing the law?  a general breakdown in morale among the occupoopers?  the infiltration of the homeless and the drug dealers onto that turf?--but something's going to happen.

And all our thanks to Mr. Mannn for having started this live thread, and to all members who've consulted it and commented upon it.

Number two, as some are aware, the occupoopers are showing up in Omaha, Nebraska this coming Saturday; the details are at one of the more-recent Omaha Steve threads here.

Because I can't get away to see it with my own eyes, I am willing to give gas and lunch money to any member of conservativecave reasonably close to Omaha, to go and check it out.  I wish I could also extend cash for one's time, but given the Pelosi-Reid-0bama economy as it's been since January 3, 2007, well--.

But I am willing to give gas and lunch money, undeniable U.S. currency, to anyone a member here willing to check this out.

Since such a thing would involve a mutual exchange of real-life identities and information, this offer is restricted only to long-time members of conservativecave familiar to me (franksolich) who happen to live reasonably close to Omaha, and find it convenient to attend the Occupation of Dodge Street.

I may be contacted with the confidence that one's identity (both real-life and internet life here) is considered a sacred secret, not to be shared with anyone else.

Now, this is simply to attend the event as a spectator, not to get involved in anything, not to put oneself into possible peril (especially considering the propensity of the left to get violent).  One is just to go to it as a passive observer, a looker-at, and to come back here to the DUmpster on conservativecave and give one's observations (and experiences, if any).

Just to look, and to report back here.

The mainstream media after all is sugar-coating and glamorizing the mob; decent and civilized people need to know that it's really like.

If one can snap some photographs, great--but for reasons of safety, that is not necessary.

If one can twit from the scene, great--but for reasons of safety, that is not necessary.

If one can give cellular telephone reports, great--but for reasons of safety, that is not necessary.

Safety has to be the greatest concern; these people are animals.

Simple passive first-hand and up-close observation will do.

Now, maybe by accident one might encounter Omaha's Ed Norton there, and one might feel tempted to approach him, but really, considering one's own safety, that might not be a good idea.  Probably best to just get a gander of my good friend Steve, nothing more than that.

In other words, don't bother him; leave him alone, but feel free to get a glimpse of him.

For those who don't know what Omaha Steve looks like, look around for some heavy guy with a bad back, in his fifties, probably wearing a pro-union sweatshirt of some sort, and who's 63/64 parts Polish (some say Irish rather than Polish, though) and 1/64 part a long-ago oppressed minority.

Don't bother him, don't do anything to embarrass him, don't point him out.

And God forbid, don't make him weep.

Any interested party may contact me via personal message here.

Oops, I forgot something.

So as to be inconspicuous, so as to be unnoticed amidst the mob, best to:

(a) not take a bath or shower starting right now (Tuesday), until it's over (Saturday afternoon);
(b) not to change clothes starting right now, until it's over;
(c) not to use toilet paper starting right now, until it's over;
(d) not to brush one's teeth or wash one's hair starting right now, until it's over;
(e) do a few drugs here-and-there starting right now, until it's over.

I took a bath in the Stock Market...can I count that as my last bath day?

This is not what a "passive observer" would do, but it's funny.

James O'Keefe, the masterful videotaper of the hypocrisies of the left, approached by occupoopers soliciting financial advice for making money on Wall Street.

Thanks to bijou, who found this.

YouTube, about four minutes long.

I wished for one of those gatherings in my area SO bad.   I have the time to go and sit all day snap pictures, laugh.   :rotf:  I even have someone to accompany me.

But there were none.  I looked, none.  I felt like I was ripped off.  It's not fair !!   :mad:

I swear if I lived close enough to go to the one in your area, I'd do it for free.

Oh man, I wish I was a couple of hours closer.

It's just for a few hours and about three blocks; if any of them have the inclination after all that walking, they'll mosey on down to the Old Market area, just a few blocks south of that.

Action, but not much.

If one lives in the neighborhood, worth a gander, but if one lives further away, nah.

And probably no excitement, not only because of the mellow temperament of Nebraskans, but also because cops in Omaha, unlike cops in blue states and blue cities, enforce the laws.

Oh now.

Omaha Steve's already whining about being "stalked," despite that the passive observer has been carefully instructed to not pay Omaha Steve any attention at all--if Omaha's Ed Norton does attend the march, which given his bad back and narcotics addiction, he might not.

That's why I took the time and trouble to give the description of my fellow Nebraskan, so the passive observer would know who not to look at.  I did that hoping to prevent any paranoia, but it's proven so much wasted time and trouble.

I'm currently nadining for a medical term; we all know the definition of "paranoia," but I'm trying to find the official medical term for "utterly unjustifiable and ungrounded and preposterous paranoia."

What about the possibility that some protesters are armed?  A friend of mine was telling me about that.

I wouldn't worry about that in Omaha.

Given the left's propensity for bloodshed and violence, though, I'd worry about it in other places.

Apparently there was one of those occupooping events in Omaha on Dodge Street last Saturday--but it never made the newspapers.  One had to go to Skins's island to learn of it.

The local demonstration was part of a larger, national movement. Protesters have been sitting-in at Wall Street in New York City for 23 days now.

but much to my disappointment, while there's a Steve there, it's not Omaha's Ed Norton.

One supposes this thing planned for Saturday is still on, but nothing in the newspapers about it.
