Steve Jobs, the Apple founder and former CEO who invented and masterfully marketed ever-sleeker gadgets that transformed everyday technology, from the personal computer to the iPod and iPhone, has died. He was 56.

last words??
"iDead"

I see it is wall to wall Jobs on the MSM! RIP
-
Well, you can't say he didn't give us fair notice.
Rest in peace, Steve.

Dammit Eupher, I was trying to be respectful to the guy. Your comment made me think of how much hype Apple products get for months before they are released. O-)

‎"Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart." Steve Jobs
I was reading Reuters and came across this. I thought it was quite profound.
Cancer is still the sucking suckfest.

The first computer I ever operated was an Apple IIe. It got me hooked on computers.
RIP Steve Jobs.

Same here. :cheersmate:

Very sad. RIP. Which proves the point that you can't take it with you. Everyone dies poor and humble. O-)

I don't care for the iCrap that's been pushed in the last decade or so, but Jobs is a legend in the computer world. The Apple and the Apple II were a breakthrough in personal computers. NeXT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXT) was simply bad-assed for the time and allowed Jobs to work his way back into Apple.
I have no use for iPads and iTampons, but Steve Jobs was a genius.

I think if Apple could have consolidated with Commodore/Amiga/Vic, IBM and Microsoft would be a distant memory. Between them, they owned the computer market prior to Windows NT.

I actually don't have an Ianything and in his personal life he did seem like a cad to be honest--denying his first child, leaving a long time girlfriend to be with that fruity loop Joan Baez, but creative genius and good character in personal dealings don't always come as a package I suppose. I'm sure he grew up and made his amends along the way seeing as he eventually married and had 3 children. RIP

Really seems an odd combo - Joan Baez and Steve Jobs.
RIP.

No offense to Steve's memory intended at all, and since I've never bought any of Apple's products, I can't relate to the hype thing.
What I meant was, Jobs had medical issues for some time now, to include a transplanted liver. That ain't a good thing, and I believe he also had had pancreatic cancer which is a cancer from which very, very few people recover.
No doubt Jobs was all the things folks have painted him to be, to include an aggressive businessman and entrepreneur. He lived life to the fullest and he had a huge impact on technology and those who are sold on Apple products.
I simply ain't one of those. :whistling:

Neither do I.
Do ya think we're somehow tainted people? Haven't seen "the light"? Technologically retarded? Unable to enjoy music, computing, and whatever-the-hell-else-Apple-sells?
Gosh, the things we've must've missed! OMG!!!!! :panic: :panic: :panic:

As I said on my facebook, I shall crawl back into my cave of obscurity.....we got cookies :-)

The waves of grief being pushed out on FB is really weird. People that barley knew who the guy was are all upset that he's gone.

Yes, Virginia, they ARE that stupid...

Notice anything???

While in his personal life he may have been a cad and in business an a-hole and while I think Macs are over rated in their alleged ease-of-use, there is no denying how revolutionary the iPhone is.
Hell, Jobs has revolutionized the world since the 1980s along with a handful of others. The man was a great innovator and an outstanding free market capitalist.
Even if Algore was on the board.

Ooooh, burn.
10 years ago we had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash... now we got no jobs, no hope and no cash.
