Reid blocks attempt by McConnell to vote on president's jobs bill
By Josiah Ryan - 10/04/11 03:16 PM ET
In a lively spat on the Senate floor Tuesday, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) attempted call up President Obama’s jobs plan for an immediate vote in the upper chamber.
However, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who supports the legislation, blocked the vote.
Reid used a procedural maneuver called "filling the tree," which allows the majority leader to say a piece of legislation has had all of its possibilities for amendments.
McConnell had tried to offer the president's job package as an amendment to the China currency legislation, which was being debated in chamber. By "filing the tree," Reid blocked that move.

0bama keeps yammering on how the republics are obstructing this, so McConnell called Bary's bluff and Dingy Harry shot it down.

4. Well, it looks kind of pathetic...
It's pretty hard to accuse McConnell of blocking the Jobs Bill when he is offering to vote on the entire bill as is right now.
The problem, again, is a handful of "moderate" and conservadems.
Don't worry facts haven't stopped 0bama in the past, so he will stil yammer on how it's the repukes fault. Your talking points won't go away, and the same group who believes them won't change their mind.

5. The problem is
the whole ****ing lot of them - Dem, Rep, and Obama. They all need to quit playing politics with our futures. This shouldn't be a campaign issue, it should have already been done. They need to get their asses together and work something out. Americans need to go to work ASAP.
How about leaving people alone and not try to squeeze every nickle out of them?

8. McConell knows that Reid does not have the votes now. To push back
against the President's blasting the R's for not voting on his jobs bill, McConell called his bluff.
Politics as usual.
FYI - sometimes progressive
Wait! What was that part there?
Reid does not have the votes
Say that again.
Reid does not have the votes
And again.
Reid does not have the votes
One more time just so we can be clear.
Reid does not have the votes
Got it!
It's the republicans' fault

He he, I love that little guy. H5

Ya he's pretty cute. Definitely a good depiction of an islander doing their usual tribal dance. :-)

:tongue:Hey Harry!!!
It removes the issue from serious conversation -- in the Senate, at least. Obama's going to have a hard time playing the blame game on Republicans when it's obvious that he doesn't even have enough Dem votes to pass it.

Apparently, he doesn't even have a Dhimmi'Rat co-sponsor. Dhimmi'Rats may be DUmmies, but as politicians, they can smell FAIL 10 miles away.

And obutthole was out saying just today that it's the GOP blocking his jobs bill... (http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-campaign-says-gop-blocking-jobs-bill-after-reid-blocks-jobs-bill_595022.html)

Reid finally realizes you can't pick up a turd by the clean end. Friggin politicians.
