Wow: Cain ties Perry for 2nd in new WaPo/ABC poll
(http://reddogreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Herman-Cain-1.jpg)
The question from last week’s sudden shift in momentum towards Herman Cain in the GOP presidential primary race was whether Cain could actually vie for the nomination. After today’s poll from the Washington Post and ABC, the question may be whether anyone but Mitt Romney could stop him.

The heat will get hotter, but Cain can handle it -- maybe even thrive on it.
Run, Herman RUN!
Signed,
Anybody but Obama....
...or Romney

Herman Cain is breaking all the rules. Never elected to public office and without a major money machine behind him, the black conservative businessman is astonishing friend and foe alike as he emerges as a major player in what many consider to be the most important presidential election in modern American history.
Disarmingly straight-talking and likeable, Cain is rising rapidly in popularity, not only among his early supporters in the tea party, but across the board.
But who is Herman Cain?
(snip)
Although he is host of a popular conservative Atlanta-area radio talk show called The Herman Cain Show, Cain is perhaps best known as the CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, who transformed a company teetering on the verge of bankruptcy into a household word. And as some will remember, Cain is also famous for using the language and logic of everyday business to expose the fallacies inherent in Clinton assumptions about "Hillarycare" during a 1994 televised town hall meeting.
Without a doubt, Cain’s current rise is the embodiment of the American Dream. His parents, Luther and Lenora Cain, made a living the only way most black people could in the '40s and '50s. Luther held down three jobs, including working as a chauffeur; Lenora cleaned houses. They had two big dreams: to buy a house and to see their sons graduate from college. With dedication and hard work, they made both dreams come true. And as Cain writes in "This is Herman Cain":
What is it in my DNA that years ago prompted me to forgo the ease of cruise control and take on the enormous challenge of doing my part toward making America a better place for my granddaughter and the generations to come?
Why do I, a son of the segregated South, refuse to think of myself as a "victim" of racism?
What is it that motivates me to insist on defining my identity in terms of "ABC" – as being American first, black second, and conservative third?
Just who is Herman Cain? And how did I get this way?
Just a hint: it may have had something to do with lessons learned from my parents, Lenora and Luther Cain, Jr.

I think the thing that scares the crap out of the leftists about Herman Cain is the fact that he is an American and not a hyphenated American.

He also refuses to use that BS hyphenated crap.

Even someone at the DUmp said he was "likeable and approachable. We ignore that at our peril." It killed the thread. :lmao:

He's got my attention.
-
I've heard him filling in for Neal Boortz a few times.
He's smart, has business savvy, actually KNOWS what is going, and best of all, he ain't no "community organizer".
Herman Cain has actually run something, other than his mouth!

Fantastic! :cheersmate:
This is great stuff!

Cain is one that I could vote for without having to hold my nose to do so.

Sigh... these days, that's about the best anyone can hope for.

Also important--I think I heard Dick Morris say this on Hannity--is that Cain is the second choice for both Perry and Romney supporters. Basically it's "if my guy doesn't win, I'll take Cain." That's a great spot to be as well. Cain may very well be our nominee. Let's hope.

Perry and Romney have big negatives as far as the TEA Party is concerned. I haven't seen any worries about Cain in that respect. AFAIK, his main problem is still name recognition, and fighting against the DC establishment.

Cain's quickly becoming my #1, Perry #2. I have only a marginally better opinion of Romney than I did John McLame in 2008. Cain talks and walks like a conservative. That's a winning trait.

I was a Cainiac before being a Cainiac was cool. :stirpot:
BTW Euph, he can handle the heat:

I would have liked to been near the exit door to the MSNBC studios when that douchebag O'Donnell left for the day.
