No way. DUmmies have zero curiosity or interest in etymology.
If they ever looked at stupid nadinisms like "motherload" and asked themselves about
the origin of the word, its silliness would be apparent.
So many DUmbasses live in California, they hear all their lives about the great mother lode that spawned the 1849 gold rush. You'd think
even a DUmmy would know better.

As noted - they date from late 19th C gold rush days.

I've never seen "motherload" myself, until the willy primitive invented it.
I've always seen it as "motherlode," usually "Comstock lode."

A lode is a high concentration of valuable ore. The "motherlode" is the mother of all lodes, usually used in connection with the California Gold Rush.
A load is a stack of shit, so although the word "motherload" does not actually exist, it could be applied to opinions expressed at the DUmp.
All nadinisms are loads.

"Motherload" is really a corruption of language by people who aren't aware of the correct spelling and have only heard the word spoken.

It amuses me, how they always say that they always spell correctly, use proper grammar, and only us knuckle dragging freepers are bad at those things. Yet on a daily basis we find something like "Marshall Law" on DUmmyland.
