Title: Movies That Liberals Hate
Post by: President Zero on September 30, 2011, 10:18:51 PM: I was watching the John Wayne movie "Hondo" the other day and I was thinking that this movie would outrage Liberals. The theme of self reliance and being tough is something that offends the looney left. I know liberals dislike John Wayne in general, especially with them raving over the half-assed version of "True Grit" released last year. Hollywood, however, wasn't always as liberal as it is today. I thought it would be fun to see what other movies that people on this forum think that liberals would hate.

2. 'Batman Begins.' Can be seen as an indictment of the effects of liberalism on our justice system; Criminals and other such scumbags are allowed to run rampant due to the indulgences of a "Tolerant" society, and when the thug who killed Bruce's parents goes on trial, his lawyer relies on the typical ultra- liberal defense attorney tactic of "Sure, what my client did was wrong, but it's REALLY society that's to blame!".
3. 'Iron Man.' Islamic terrorists are villains, and the hero's a corporate CEO who supplies weapons to the US military; In a liberal film, the roles would be reversed.
4. The original 'Nightmare on Elm Street.' Freddy Krueger's backstory is another indictment of the effects of liberalism on our justice system; He molested and murdered a bunch of kids, got caught, but the judge let him go on a technicality, which enraged the Elm Street parents so much that they took matters into their own hands and had Krueger burned alive, which enabled him to become deadlier than ever as a dream demon (In other words, if the judge had done his job and put that animal in prison where he belonged, none of that would've happened).
5. 'The Crow.' The subplot involving the young girl Sarah and her mother definitely can be seen as espousing a conservative viewpoint; Sarah's mom starts the film as a selfish, drug- addicted whore (The sort of woman a liberal film would portray as enlightened, liberated, and heroic), yet Eric gives her a reality check by reminding her that she has a responsibility to take better care of herself and set a better example for her daughter. The last we see of her, she's at least trying to be a good mother to Sarah.
6. 'Demolition Man.' I can't believe nobody's mentioned this yet; It's pretty much mandatory viewing for all adult conservatives, as it perfectly depicts the sort of seemingly benevolent, "For your own good" dictatorship that the Left would seek to inflict on us, and Denis Leary's character in it is the epitome of an American conservative, as shown in an awesome rant he gives late in the movie.

James Arness' character in that film really, really hated Ed White.

Two other films the libs would hate.
1. Exodus
2. Cast a Giant Shadow

Both deal with the creation of Israel and do not exactly show the Arabs in a good light when compared to the PC of today.

Definitely a good call about Courageous. I haven't seen it yet (I probably will tomorrow), but between the facts that a) It is a faith- based movie which openly promotes the Christian faith, b) it portrays police officers in a positive light, and c) It encourages parents to take a more active role in raising and guiding their children, I know the DUmmies and the rest of the lefties will hate it with the heat of a thousand suns.

The Hunt for Red October has got to be fairly high on the Moonbat "Hated It" list. It's got the bastion of Socialism - Soviet Russia - launching a first strike weapon, Красное октябрь, and just by happenstance placing it in the capable hands of a Soviet naval officer who is planning to defect because his wife was the victim of Universal HealthCare.

The commies are accurately portrayed as the gang that couldn't shoot straight, the good guys win the day, and James Earl Jones does a magnificent cameo as Head of VRWC special operations branch (..."That torpedo did not self distruct. You heard it hit the hull. And I was never here".)
