Oh my.
I went over to Skins's island this morning to see if any primitives had any opinions, uninformed as usual, about the upcoming Nebraska-Wisconsin football game.
No, the primitives didn't, although the truemud primitive is yapping about something else. The truemud primitive thinks he's an expert on sports because he watches it a lot on television, but of course there hasn't been an expert on sports on Skins's island since the truemud primitive drove the cboy4 primitive away.
Anyway.

Texas A&M officially joining SEC
And so it starts:
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference has accepted Texas A&M as its 13th member, the league announced Sunday
The Aggies will jump from the Big 12 to the SEC effective July 1, with competition to begin in all sports for the 2012-13 academic year.
It is the first expansion for the SEC since September of 1991, when South Carolina joined the league. Arkansas joined in August of 1991.

4. Mississippi State, Starkville would be a great awakening for you Yankees.
SEC Football has a lot of people hating on it because it dominates your asses.
I don't see this as the end, what will be the next jump?
On a side note, In 1974 I had an Aggie AF Captain in a M113 APC, It was unusual to actually have the FAC with us and I forgot he was in the track. We chewed tobacco because of the heavy dust and I let a stream of amber out that caught him in the face. I was sorry but I laughed pretty hard. Aggie officers were bigger pricks than West Pointers.
I haven't chewed for 35 years or so.

8. I wouldn't be surprised to see the SEC go after Oklahoma or OK State and move the Alabama schools to the SEC East, or maybe go after Clemson. I don't think they'll go with an odd number.
franksolich predicts Missouri's going to jump somewhere, maybe there, although really, Missouri belongs in the Big 10 as long as the Big 12 isn't serious about surviving.

I always thought of Texas A & M as being a fine school, one of the finest schools in the nation, and unlike its big brother Texas, unhampered by egoism and rampant self-interest.

Don't see it, franksolich. The Big 10 used MU as their foil last year whilst wining and dining Nebraska and throw off the speculators. Then, when MU was basking in the glory and chomping at the bit to be asked to dance, Big 10 pulled the rug out from under them and officially announced the addition of Nebraska and that there was never any intention to bring MU over then, now or ever in the future.
I think it was Illinois that came up with that ploy. As
i remember it, the Big 12 was sort of ho-hum about it. Guess it was because if MU went to the Big 10, it would raise the collective Big 12 schools' average IQ.

I vaguely recall that, sir; Missouri was the first to indicate it was willing to jump, even before Colorado and then Nebraska. And then after Nebraska, tired of the games Texas plays, hinted, "Hey, we're willing," everybody forgot about Missouri.
But culturally, Missouri is more "Big 10" than "Southeastern Conference."
It's very sad, though, seeing the old Big 8 breaking up like this. I never cared for Colorado and Oklahoma's little brother Oklahoma State (they were after all, much newer members than the original six). but Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma were the nucleus of a damned fine conference, steeped in history and heritage and tradition as they were.

Just a little note to the DUmbasses.
Every boss on my husband's way up at his company were Aggies. Every one of them engineers. Every one of them walked into a spot with the company not at the bottom, but in the middle.
Today, most all have retired from the company before age 55. All were very successful.
So suck on that you stupid shits.
BTW, as an SEC fan, I welcome Texas A&M with open arms.

Yeah. It would be tragic if a Texas college had to assume the standards of Vanderbilt University.
Hard to function with a football team and no student body.
