Original message

Sometimes people are nice. Monday I was on my way to my health care
provider in my neighboring town. Part of the route was in town, six lanes of traffic (three each direction) with a median.

An older fellow decided he needed to cross all six lanes, without benefit of an intersection. Had a cane, and a very pronounced limp.

He stuck his free hand up and started across. All six lanes stopped as he limped his way across. No horns blew, no one inched ahead, everyone just patiently waited.

I was on my motorcycle, and could see many of the faces in the cars around me. No grimaces, no expressions of exasperation. No one started moving until the guy was safely on the sidewalk - not even the ones in the three lanes on the other side of the median.

It was very nice to see.

Sounds like a Liberty Mutual commercial.   :whatever:

4. So Jaywalking laws are unnecessary?

 Should we rescind them?

8. No, a cop should have jumped out of the bushes and tazed the old
guy, then we could see some indignant posts about mean law enforcement officers picking on senior citizens.

Primitive = medical care paid for by taxpayers.

Primitive = medical care is usually "pharmaceutical therapy," meaning mood-altering drugs.

How can a primitive probably riding the social security disability gravy-train, too "depressed" to work, afford a motorcycle?

Yeah, yeah, motorcycles are cheaper than cars, but on the other hand, if one has a motorcycle, the odds are pretty near 100% that one has a car too.

One suspects we taxpayers are paying for this primitive's motorcycling hobby.

This reminds me of the other day, when a polar bear came to town and hugged all the Nissan Leaf owners.  :-)

Nobody talks like this.  :whatever:

It's 'doctor' and 'nurse', not 'primary health care provider' or 'licensed practicing non-physician caregiver', you ****nuts.

I'll never disparage anyone riding a motorcycle, especially a DUmmy.
There's a critical shortage of donor organs.

The story sounded like one of those tear jerking feel good commercials.  :-)

After old man Moses crossed the street and let down his free arm, the cars took off, running over all of the Egyptians that were chasing him.
