Taking a Bush Secret to the Grave

Special Report: The National Archives has approved an appeal by journalist Robert Parry seeking release of a 30-year-old secret, the address where George H.W. Bush supposedly went on an October weekend in 1980 — when several witnesses put Bush in Paris meeting with Iranians. But it turns out the “alibi witness†is now dead.
By Robert Parry
A three-decade-old mystery has finally been solved – who was George H.W. Bush’s unidentified “alibi witness†on Oct. 19, 1980, when other witnesses allege the then-Republican vice presidential candidate took a secret flight to Paris for meetings with Iranians – but the mystery’s answer only raises new questions.
After 20 years of rejecting requests from various investigators for the identity of the “alibi witness,†the U.S. government finally released enough information from Secret Service files – in response to an appeal that I filed with the National Archives – to ascertain the person’s identity.
The person who perhaps could have verified where Bush was or wasn’t on that day was Richard A. Moore, a Bush family friend best known for his role in the Watergate scandal as a special counsel to President Richard Nixon. In 1973, Moore was Nixon’s point man in attacking the credibility of fired White House counsel John Dean ...

1. He also doesn't remember where he was on Nov. 22, 1963. Do
know of another human being in this country that doesn't know where they were on that date? Turns out Barbara Bush and Georgie were in Dallas. hmmmmmmm I've always wondered why no one has asked Barbara where her husband was on that date.

Of course, if Bush did have an alibi it would just prove the alibi giver was part of the conspiracy.

Wait, Bush was in the CIA, right? SURELY you DUmmies aren't wanting to expose a CIA guy, now are you?

What amazes me is apparently the CIA couldn't give their presidential assassin a half-decent cover story.

As I recall, when the conspiracy nuts dreamed up their story about Bush and Iran, a problem developed when they learned that Bush41's whereabouts were unaccounted for during only part of the one day in question. He would not have had nearly enough time to travel a round trip to Europe to sabotage President Peanut's re-election, and get back in time for a campaign function the same evening.
So they screwed their tinfoil hats on tighter, and claimed he had prevailed on his friends in the CIA to give him a ride to Paris and back on board a SR-71 Blackbird, flying at Mach 3+, complete with inflight refueling. The SR-71 could make it to Paris in less than 2 hours.

I heard that in 1980 Bush was meeting with Bill & Ted so he could rent their time machine (obviously this was on one of their trips back in time) so he could travel back to 1963 and get a front row seat on a grassy knoll where he could get a good view of the president as he drove by.

I think he even had Marty McFly and the Doc's help. Flux Capacitor for the win!

Or it could have been that he was president and co-founder of Zapata Petroleum Corporation and living in Houston at the time.

With all the people that have been accused of being on the "grassy knoll" that day, it must cover about 1,200 acres.
-
This idiocy was debunked almost the second it was spewed forth in the early 80s.
It suffers the problem all conspiracy have...It can sound plausible at first breath but a moments thought reveals just how many it would take to pull it off.
For a then Vice Presidential candidate to have escaped from press scrutiny,SS protection, received military aid that would have been considered treason, had the cooperation of foreign governments plus the needed foot workers such as drivers etc and not a one ever spill the beans then or now is lunacy.
For those too young to remember that election the worry we had was that Carter was desperate to get the hostages released and to do so he would make some deal destructive to the US.
Hence the beginning of the term "October surprise".

I thought the DUmp was all stoked up on crazy.

I thought some of this sounded familiar (the JFK stuff). I brought the thread I was thinking about over so others could relive the crazy too.

That old chestnut is stock and trade for any tinfoil dummy. Them are some scary folk. :panic:
They make the MIHOP LIHOP look sane. (OK, the chicken wire guy maybe should get a buy on that but I suspect he believes in Blackbirds Flyin in the Dead of Night too)

Considering about the only places the SR-71 ever landed were Beale, Kadena, Mildenhall, and Edwards (Groom Lake) you would think the presence of an SR-71 anywhere near Paris would have been pretty much guaranteed to have had MASSIVE media coverage.
Strangely, nothing.

I hear they're kind of loud as well.

Yep. I spent part of my childhood at Beale AFB in the late 1970s. Sonic booms from time to time.

They can't hear the sonic booms over the sounds of the free range mimes getting trapped in invisible boxes across the Parisian countryside.
....Or the peals of laughter at Jerry Lewis/Dean Martin films.....
-
And French bathrooms are well soundproofed in order to hide the rips from all those people bound up with all that cheese...

I'm sure when they heard it, the French thought that it was just the Wehrmacht slipping over the border for a wild weekend in Paris - again.
