Woman reportedly injured by exploding toilet at GSA building
WASHINGTON -- A toilet reportedly exploded Monday and injured a woman at the General Services Administration Building in D.C.
The D.C. Fire and EMS Department confirms a woman went to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
"The GSA National Capital Regional Office Building experienced a building mechanical incident, which we understand may have resulted in injuries," a GSA statement reads.
Channel 9 (WUSA) reports a memo made the rounds in the GSA building, warning people not to flush.
"Do NOT flush toilets or use any domestic water," Channel 9 quotes the memo as saying.

The government, under its own regulations, in its own house, takes the simplest system that has operated on its own principles since time immemorial and instead creates a thing that not only operates in the wrong direction, contrary to plain physical law but also ends up exploding on the user and bathing them in shards and shit with such severity the entire system is no longer usable.

A do not flush order? I shudder to think of the consequences of that. :censored:
I could go on for days about the problems I have experienced with the AlGore lo-flo toilets. The old folk home had an air assist toilet to "get 'er done" that scared my aunt to death each time she used it. This thing was loud, provided plenty of pressure.

Noticed there is no "DO NOT USE" order, just a "DO NOT Flush". I betchya there will be some knuckleheads that will keep on DUmping and hosing until the stench, and toilet, are overwhelming and overwelmed.

Although paid for by your taxes, the system was, undoubtedly, engineered and installed by a contractor - the private sector. Union labor, I'm sure, in DC.

Toilet explosion is very common nowadays. It may sound like the punchline to a joke, but they can cause serious injuries and even death. Here is another proof: Exploding toilets injure one and kill another on different continents (http://www.newsytype.com/12029-exploding-toilets/). A female was hurt and shipped to a medical facility Monday when she sat on an exploding toilet in Washington, D.C. On the other side of the world, an Australian airman, who suffered a similar accident eight weeks ago, died from his injuries.
