Need a suggestion to a gas problem (not at all a joke)
Edited on Sun Sep-25-11 11:54 AM by Sarah Ibarruri
I have a question I cannot find an answer to, is embarrassing (though it doesn’t have anything to do with me), and I thought perhaps someone out there had dealt with this problem before.
Someone in my family who is married (not me, I’m divorced 4 times and remain single), and married to a man who passes gas a great deal. Before going any further, let me say that he refuses to go to a gastroenterologist, because he doesn’t like going to doctors. (I think he worries they might find something terminal). Further, I don’t know if doctors have any solutions to the matter of too much passing of gas.
In any case, they’ve been married for decades, but the gas has gotten worse, and this woman who is a family member of mine, is just about out of her mind.
Whenever she mentions the excessive gas to him, he becomes angry, feels insulted, humiliated, claims she is emasculating him.
She’s unsure whether he can control it or not. She’s not sure he can, but it angers her that this happens at any time, at dinner time, during sex, in the car, while watching TV, with company, at holidays, etc. She is refusing to be intimate with him because of the gas and he’s beside himself about this, and has told her that she’s just about asking for him to ‘stray.’ She no longer finds him appealing, and to be perfectly honest, from the sounds of it, I think she’s at that point at which she couldn’t care less if he did stray.
Lastly, the gas appears to be quite malodorous. Let’s put it this way, I’ve been there and can attest to that.
Men are complicated, so I have no ideas, but this guy is not bad. He’s hard working, he’s there for the family, he loves his kids and his wife, etc. If it were me, I’d get a separation or divorce. :( Any ideas?

No shock she would dump him, she dumped a guy who spoiled her rotten, for voting the wrong way.

14. Well, I'm not the one with the problem, so such things would have to be paid by them
I'm asking because the woman is a relative in my family, and I have no suggestions at all to give her.
Reminds me of Monster's Inc bring your obscure relative to work day. :-)

16. I'm going to tell her to force him to have a colonosocopy. He hasn't had one out of fear.
He's terrified of medical procedures.
Yet you would throw a shit fit, if the woman was wanting an abortion and the guy wanted to discuss it first. :mental:

No wonder she's been married four times. She's a moron.
-
It's his allergies. :rotf:
So she's been married 4 times ? I don't understand that. She's got such a cheery personality. :whatever:
He's probably lactose intolerant or Sarah Ibarruri in tolerant.
Imagine having HER for a friend. Putting her friend's personal business on front street.
I think it's bs. She would have bragged about DU to said friend so she could join. You all know how much she hates Rethugs, any of her friends would be as nutty as she is. There's no way she'd want friend to read what she wrote.
I'll bet she has no friends.

I found her online bio:

I don't think she actually dumped him yet, has she?

I'm not sure odds are if she hasn't he will get tired of her BS and dump her if he hasn't by now. :-)

Severe. Just like her.

mopinko, the hypochondrial primitive, doesn't like us.
Once a campfire's brought over here, the moderators try to find the least little excuse to lock it, or better yet, to delete it.
Anyway, I'm intrigued about something.
Dairy products cause gas?
My own personal diet is heavily dairy products--to which I credit my height, my good health, my youth, my unbounded joy and zest in life--in fact, probably at least circa 60-67% of the diet, and it seems to me from casual observation that I pass less gas than most people, including women.

I think some people have issues with things like milk, cheese, ice cream etc. they're lactose intolerant.

Dogs are lactose intolerant , as are many non-Caucasians.
-
CauCajuns are too. :rotf:
My husband will swell like a balloon if he drinks milk. When he does, he blames it on allergies.
My Father in law is the same way.

I only found out from our vet. Our dog loves milk and cheese and has always been given them. I happened to mention it to the vet and he said most animals become lactose intolerant when they get to be adults, and he said other races are the same way. It's never caused a problem for our dog, so I assume she handles it okay.

I have one cat that eats everything we eat. He never has gas. I think he thinks he's people.
My other cat though has gas. And she only eats cat food. Go figure.
-
I'll cry my eyes out if I ever become lactose intolerant. Same goes for gluten.

Try a dry food that has no corn. We have a cat that had gas so bad it would peel wallpaper, until a vet friend suggested trying a dry food without corn or cornmeal. Worked like a charm!
Also, DUmmie, hard to tell what causes gas if we don't know what he eats. Suggest some Beano, perhaps?

Gee, we'd have never guessed.
-
Solution: Go green...hook his ass to a hybrid car...free methane gas.
-
CauCajuns.
:lmao: :rotf: :-)
Good one, girlfriend!!
