Thanks a lot Right Wing for making un/underemployment something to be ashamed about!
I just found this article "Without a job, California woman forced to live a lie" on CNN.com about Sukhraj Beasla, whose parents lie about her working as a bank manager (she's actually been underemployed since 2009):
Beasla, who is 30, has been living off part-time work since she lost her job in February 2009 as a project manager and later as a trust manager for LaSalle Bank.
She earned an annual salary between $65,000 to $70,000 and was about to be promoted to an assistant vice president, but layoffs came instead.
Now she's making roughly $1,200 in a bad month and $2,000 when times are good. Her estimated yearly income will be from $15,000 to $25,000 this year.
She's online all day promoting various clients for a social media marketing agency. Babysitting, dog walking, tutoring and a collection of random jobs occupy her nights and weekends.
It's enough to give her 40 to 50 hours of work every week, including weekends, but it's not always enough to cover the rent.
She's paying $1,300 a month for her one-bedroom apartment in Lake Forest, California. That's just under the average monthly rent for Orange County, which is $1,400, according to city-data.com.
The message of this story is that many Americans who used to have stable, well-paying, worthy jobs are too scared to be honest about their underemployment thanks to the Republican broad-brush smears about the poor and similar efforts to curb unemployment insurance.

I have yet to hear anyone on the right trash anyone who is trying their best to find a job, it's only those who are more than happy to sit home all day for months and months and collect a check, like you DUmmies.

5. Yes, until just recently, I heard disparaging things about people who...
receive public assistance but never about people who are unemployed. I've now begun to see Facebook posts belittling unemployed people as well. It won't be long before there will be calls for unemployed people who receive unemployment insurance checks to be drug tested on a regular basis.
What a mean-spirited country the United States has become. :(
One of the conditions of receiving unemployment is being eligible to work, so if you are smoking dope you are not eligible for most jobs, so drug testing is not a bad idea. What I would do is make a policy if you apply for a job and fail the drug test you lose benefits.

She has been out of her normal work for 2 years but hasn`t figured out that maybe she should look for a cheaper place to live?

Sukhraj Beasla
This could be cultural. The name sounds sub-continent, and depending on which caste she came from, her parents have the family honor in mind when they inflate the daughter's resume for the neighbors.
I do not sneer and look down on underemployed people at all. They're doing their damnedest in this Oconomy to keep their head above water, to keep "in the game" and to keep their face out front for networking. All the power to them, it's exhausting.
It's the 99ers who I am suspicious of. When I see Help Wanted signs in nearly every store I go to, I think of the DUmmies spending their days drunk and/or high, wasting time at the DUmp, saying dorky things in the lounge, and stupid things in GD, and begging for shit on the internet, like Lyric does.

Liberal dogmatic practice #1: always blame someone else for your own immorality. Nobody makes ANYONE lie. It's impossible.

Well let me see, I personally knew a few people who kicked back and enjoyed unemployment for a few years. I was also talking to someone a few weeks ago who has a relative who just got a job because the 99 weeks were up, she basically chilled all that time and only got a job WHEN SHE HAD TOO!
ETA: I have no problem with the underemployed either, they're doing what they have to do, it's the unemployed who are chilling that tick me off.

:whatever:
DUmbshit, much as we'd like to claim credit for that, we just can't. That was done by God:
..."By the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, all the days of thy life".
--Gen 3:19
See? And you shitheads say that God isn't a conservative... :-)

As far as I can tell this woman isn't unemployed. Who the hell has ever disparaged the underemployed? At least they're trying.

Actually they claim that Jesus isn't a conservative. You and I may realize that saying something about Jesus is saying something about God, but the DUmmies never read these parts of the Bible...
John 10: 30 I and my Father are one.
John 14:9 he that hath seen me hath seen the Father

Huh? :panic:
I only trash people that sit on their asses and don't work. I would be very proud of someone that did whatever they could to work instead of sucking off the gov't teat. :bird:

February 2009. Seems like that was right around the time Obama was sworn in as President.

Well, when I was growing up, being an able bodied adult and needing to work but not doing so was something to be ashamed of. Then the hippy culture came about and being an unemployed slacker somehow became something to brag and joke about.
I give respect to anyone who is out there plugging away and doing their best. We had a couple of young men, relatives of one of my co-workers, over to mow our lawn a while back. While they were there they noticed a couple of things around the house that needed attention and offered their services to fix them and do any other odd jobs we needed, and the fact is we had been looking for people to do the work and had put the word out but had no takers. I paid them a fair wage for it. More than fair really because I paid them darn near as much as I make on my job as an R.N. and was happy to do it. Later I remarked to my wife about how enterprising they were and were an example of how people could work and put food on the table if they really wanted to.
Of course, those two young men and the exchange we had would be sneered at and ridiculed by DUmmies. If it's not a union job paying twice what it's worth with full insurance and bennies it would be beneath them. Not worth doing. Better to collect unemployment paid for by the ones who are working.

People should be ashamed of not being productive. They should have an inner voice that tells them that they're borderline scumbags while living on the public dole. If you're not handicapped in some way that prevents you from working, one should work.
Every day I take 30 minutes for lunch. I run to Subway and pick up a sandwhich. On the way back to the office, there's a porch where every morning a group of able bodied welfare recipients sit with beers in hand. Makes me sick knowing that I'm buying those worthless sacks of shit beer.

I bought my first lawn mower the summer I turned thirteen. I guess the DUmmies would have marked me as rich. That mower bought school clothes and my first truck, an '78 F100 from a friend of my Dad.
I even took the thing to weight training and football practice in the summer before school started because I found some customers walking home from school one day. That mower gave me four long hard summers. The chinese just don't build 'em like that.
DUmmies don't seem to have that hustle in them.
