Poll question: Why did you come to DU??
Poll result (84 votes)
To join other progressives to fight the corporate Republicans? (5 votes, 6%)
To help the Democratic Party win more races? (8 votes, 10%)
To give my ideas of what is best for our country and our Party? (3 votes, 4%)
To offer more moderate ideas to the far left forums? (1 votes, 1%)
To learn from some very intelligent people? (18 votes, 21%)
To organize for political benefits and purposes? (0 votes, 0%)
To assist like-minded folks in beating the hell out of right-wing TeaBaggers? (1 votes, 1%)
Just to unrec those ideas and those folks that I can't stand? (2 votes, 2%)
Other? (46 votes, 55%)
Hmmm.
One notices "to whine" or "to Hate" aren't offered as options in the bluegrass primitive's poll, even though they're inarguably the reason at least 90% of all primitives swim to Skins's island.

It was a place where like-minded people could talk amongst themselves and find comfort during the horror of the Bush years.

11. To find some sanity
I started looking for a place where I could find anything that countered what I was being fed, since 2000. I truly was going mad. Honest to god, I started "googling" undercover dems, just a feeling I had that anyone like me was in "hiding". Not sure when I finally joined, but I was a lurker for a long time.

13. BushCo clearly stole sic the Y2K selection.
With a lot of help from Katherine Harris and the Supremes. There wasn't much to do about it after Smirky
took (literally) office because they stacked the deck in their favor but DU helped ease the pain for me.

It's good to know that your posts won't be deleted, that you won't be infracted for saying something that someone on the right is able to say and not receive the same treatment. It's refreshing to be among many that think the same in many issues - and whose arguments actually make sense, unlike other forums.

I notice that the top vote getter - other than the nice, safe, anonymous "Other" option, that is - is utter and complete bullshit. This is why you can't trust DUmbshit polls - or anything else said, thought, written or published by a DUmbshit, for that matter - because DUmmies can't even be truthful with themselves.

If Taverner is ~25, that would have made him a freshman or sophomore in high school when George W. Bush legitimately won the state of Florida and the election.

I think the Taverner primitive recently he admitted he's 40 years old, or was born in 1971, or something like that.
It surprised me he's so young, and at the same time I found out the bluegrass primitive, the "Kentuck" primitive, is up there in years.

I clicked that link to DU, but google popped up with a malware warning for some link on the page.
-
It's a clean link. I get no warnings.
Oh, almost forgot
:spork:
-
It's a warning that DU contains material from www.praesentia.us a site that has been known to install malware. I clicked on through to the DU page without trouble. I've gotten the same warning on this site and others before that had hyperlinks on them. No big deal.

Anyone ever notice the most "manly" activities have homoerotic elements to them?
Not that homoeroticism or homosexuality isn't manly: go see Brokeback Mountain if you don't believe me.
But think about "manly" activities:
Football - men running around in tights, jumping into piles and tackling each other.
Weightlifting - one man does the bench press, while blowing air up his spotter's shorts.
Truck Driving - real men use stick shifts, just sayin'
Beer Drinking - Long, tall, cool ones with head.
Target Shooting - a man holds his piece with BOTH HANDS, ya heah?
Wrestling - do I have to explain this one? The Ancient Greeks did it in the nude, btw.

I thought they gravitated there to hear Nadine's words of wisdom

Other? (46 votes, 55%)
What a skillfully crafted poll!
Must be from the guy who does all that exit polling for the DUmp.

It's funny how Libs, especially academic ones, will hold forth about how historically honorable and accepted being a bonesmuggling fudgepacker was and how wrong it is to mock Teh Gheys, but as soon as they want to mock something heteros are doing they go through it with a fine-tooth comb to find anything they can label homoerotic by women or men, with no apparent understanding at all of the actual period or cultural practices concerned.
I figure it's only partly because their brains don't work right, the rest of the reason is they're homos afraid to come out until they can call everyone else a homo too.

Taverner kinda sounds like a gay chauvinist
pitt pig. Oops, feminist Freudian slip there.
