1. I'm ok with this sentence given the facts.
Heinous crime and certainty of agency and no compelling mitigating circumstances.
Plus he's white so it's no big deal.

2. My only regret is that they're not going to chain him to a pickup truck and drag him to death
He's wasted enough oxygen - hasta la vista, baby.
I had to check the URL and make sure I saw that at DU.

16. Yes, there are candlelight vigils against this execution, too
See, that's what having principles is all about. If you're against state executions of "sympathetic" prisoners, you sort of have to take the "unsympathetic" prisoners into account, too.
I'm sure it is the KKK holding those vigils.

And OMG at the hypocrisy! look how many of them are pro-death penalty in this case.

19. I'm not pro-death penalty but I'm not anti-death penalty either
It's not a big issue to me. I'm strongly against an innocent person being executed but good riddance to this scum.

Although I will say to SOME anti-DP folks credit, they did also hold a much smaller vigil in Texas, including Dick Gregory.
I may not agree with his stand, but at least it's based on principle rather than what's hip and convenient.
-
I love that guy.
The way they're handling this over there is to post loooooong, multi-paragraphed pieces (of something), tying themselves in knots. Frankly, the posts made my eyes glaze over, so I don't know exactly what they were trying to say.
-

Self-contradicting, immoral principles, that is. Statistically, there were somewhere around 3,753 abortions committed yesterday alone. Another 3,753 will be performed today. But you fully support the right to life for someone who's a murderer. Genius.

Agreed. Although I'm not sure the Troy Davis case was all that hip. You could have asked 100 people who he is and maybe one or two would have heard of him. And around here they probably thought he was the former record-setting Iowa State running back from the mid-90's.

You're so right - disgusting how they refuse to see that.

I'm pretty sure it's all tied together. They know abortion is murder, thus murderers (they who perform/receive abortions) would be eligible for the death penalty should they be held accountable for the slaughter of an innocent infant, thus - they are against the death penalty. *seething*
