Nobody gets it....
...Including the top of our party. The campaign has started and even if we win HUGE it is all over for millions. The election is 13 months away and if democrats win the House, Senate, and Presidency we are STILL 6 months from democratic legislation and 1 year before any effect is felt.
2 years is the stroking yourself at midnight dream of when any normal person will get a boost of any kind. I might make it, but I doubt it. I know a bunch of guys hanging on the edge who probably won't. These are real people who right now juggle food and rent and keeping an old car legal and work every minute they can for wages that just don't cover even the basics.
Yesterday a member of congress complained that 400K "left over" was not enough to fund increasing his investment past the 37 Subway shops and multiple UPS locations he operates. He is a ****ing idiot. But unfortunately democrats don't get it either. I'm surviving and one lucky bastard. But this month I have to check and see if I have $400 to pay for heating fuel. I think so but I doubt i can afford the whole winter.
Until the first relative of a congressperson freezes or starves they will never get it. And when the first of my friends does so the social contract is void.

So a man who owns several businesses and has some money is a ****ing idiot, yet you have trouble raising $400 and you are so smart?

5. This Thread Is Proof-Positive Why Obama Needs To Win
If you think you're screwed now with the possibility of Obama winning/not-winning, imagine the REALITY of a Republican in office.
I doubt the reality of a republican in office could be any worse than the reality with 0bama in office.

9. Hang tight!
Yes it's true things won't get better right away but this is what we signed up for ! I think the campaign will get some great support going after the blood sucking millionaires and billionaires. Yes - not legislation will get passed and our economy may well collapse but after that... dream away ---- free meds, green jobs, solar-powered bullet trains, 30-hour work weeks. This land will be so progressive that the teabaggers may leave! Imagine!

What do you assholes think you were doing between January 1, 2007 and January 1, 2011?
No wonder the economy is so ****ed up. Four years of Stretch Pelosi and Dingy Harry and they don't think they've done enough damage.

Can he be an active business owner AND be a member of congress?

Oh, no way. No way in Hell.
There's lots of Republican presidential candidates right now, and I myself like some more than others in that field, but even the worst, the very worst, R would be stratospherically better than the Magic One.
Miles above.

So, he owns 40 plus businesses, and he is looking at having $400,000 on hand. This is only about $10,000 on hand, or less, per place of business. Really, that isn't a huge cushion, especially since we don't know if any improvements and such are necessary. Investing in a new business would significantly cut into his "buffer," so I don't blame him for saying he wouldn't start a new investment with that money.
But, of course, we are supposed to take financial advice from those who can't reliably care for themselves...

As CR so saliently notes:

That $10k/store/year is a rather stunning considering federal minumum wage leaves the lowest paid worker working 40 hours a week for 50 weeks a year makes $14.5k. This doesn't count the number of employees per store or the fact that local wage laws and regulations may drive that higher still.
But how much does a new store cost to open?
At Subway's franchise center, you can download a PDF for your region. This document outlines total costs associated with opening and operating a Subway, including the franchise fee, estimated rental and lease costs, leasehold improvements, equipment lease security deposit, security, freight charges, signs, opening inventory, insurance, supplies, training expenses, legal fees, opening advertisement and miscellaneous expenses.
There are three cost levels in each category. In the United States, these costs range from $114,800 to $258,300.
http://www.ehow.com/about_5381808_much-cost-open-subway.html
So a new store--at a minumum could run him 25% to 53% of his annual income.
Depending on local cost of living he might be stuck in some hellhole like Chuck Schumer's New York where being middle class costs you $250k annually.

Which is why Chuckie Schumer wants the taxes based on cost of living. Someone making $250K/yr in New York should pay a lower percentage than someone making that much living in Mississippi.

It's all crazy, but "solar-powered bullet trains"?
He couldn't be more obvious without mentioning unicorns and skittles.
Definitely a mole.

Fleming is also a Dr. He did not come from wealth, he WORKED for it.
Something a DUmmy wouldn't know about. They just want to steal what he has.
I happened to go to one of Mr. Fleming's places today. Happy employees, nice friendly place. I didn't see anyone tied up or beaten into working there. Matter of fact, they spoke well of him.
Then tonight I got a call to join in on his town hall via the telephone. I could ask questions, or just listen. I could talk to Rep. Fleming also.
He's okay in my book. Suck it DUmmies.

Pelosi owns some kind of business, I seem to recall in the territory that she runs it they are exempt from paying minimum wage.

I agree. Seems obvious, but I'm not sure the DUmmies will catch it.

So Obama has no problem with so called family living on section 8, darn one would think he would move over 1000 relatives here and put them all up in the Hilton. He can do this, place every one in school of their choice, keep the older ones comfortable and educate the younger ones.
Have to ask why not unless these people are not really related to him. And he said he calls his fathers 3rd wife grandma, his culture is different from that of America.
Here is a President that visits his so called grandma who lives in a hovel------Same as she did when his father a Harvard graduate her son came to visit. Nothing really changed for her, same old shack in Kenya. WTF and our president is suppose to talk about family values to us ????
It is how people treat their family that concerns me when anyone tells me how I must live.
Now what about his wife's family, we know her mother lives in the white house to look after the girls in some way, but the rest of her family is clouded in sorcerer, missspelling , secrecy, but who knows, and we know very little about them or her and her family.
Who is this grandma who is in charge of Obamas girls, Inquiring minds want to know.
Who are these people really, where do they come from and why are they destroying AMERICA ????

What @%#!ing moral obligation does this congressman have to go spend any more money than he already has, DUmbass? When you go shopping, do you buy the most expensive vendor for the item you're purchasing? Probably not, ergo you're the idiot and the hypocrite.

10. Perhaps you have no sarcasm smily available.
And perhaps YOU signed up for friends suffering. Free meds means universal health care and I'm down with that. Green jobs ARE a good thing. Solar powered bullet trains neither exist nor are proposed. And a 32 hour work week was seriously considered during the administration of FDR. I don't want the Tea Baggers to leave, I'd like us to have them restored to sanity instead. They are my fellow Americans...

11. You may be on to something
Perhaps the future could mean mental hospitals and education centers for the Teahaddists! Think of the personnel needed to run those institutions.
Not tombstoned.

You won't make it, but you can pay for interwebs and no doubt cable TV. GET OFF THE INTERNET AND GET A JOB YOU BUM. Cancel the internet and cable and live within your means you @#%!ing MOOCH. What the hell do you mean you need a "boost"? WTF? Go get a second job (if you even have a first one) and there's your damned boost. Quit having a pity party and whining and moaning like a child and grow up. Take responsibility for the misery that YOU CREATED.

I don't want the Tea Baggers to leave, they are the only one's who make enough money to pay taxes so I get free goodies.
Fixed.
Problem is it won't work that way. Should the USA ever become what you libs would have it be, the Tea Party people will find ways to live off the grid and defund your stupid little utopia.

The worst thing that could happen to that gasbag is for him to get that wish, the NY metro area refugees would be re-enacting the 'US embassy in Saigon' scene. Of course it would suck for everyone else too, because we would all get a bunch of idiots accustomed to the NY metro area level of 'services' (I.e. graft and layers upon layers of useless government drones slurping at the trough) and start demanding it where they landed.
