Title: Chris Matthews Blames 'Robots' at CVS, MSNBC for Poverty in America
Post by: RobJohnson on September 18, 2011, 02:14:27 AM

On his September 14 "Hardball," host Chris Matthews admitted to socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) that it "sounds Marxist" but that automation in the economy has killed jobs by replacing human clerks in CVS and camera operators at MSNBC with "robots."

It does not sound Marxist, it sounds Moronic.

Last time I shopped at CVS, there were no robots there.  Am I missing something?

They're in the back stuffing pills in bottles. They've got one 'bot doin' it and another checkin' to make sure that the first 'bot was lubed up when he stuffed the pills.

It's a union thing.  :stoner:

He's probably talking about robots in the warehouse/distribution centers.

There are a number of advantages to having robots fill orders in the warehouse. They don't complain, hide in the back somewhere and take a nap, get hurt and sue, join the union and go on strike, demand 4 hours of overtime for 6 minutes of work... shoot, the list is endless.

A problem/srike at a store is an inconvenience. A problem/strike at the warehouse shuts down everything.

Resistance is futile.

I really doubt that Chris Matthews has even been into a CVS. But it's my opinion he should be on medication!

What are you doing in a CVS? True Conservatives shop at Walgreens.  :whistling:

Technology creates jobs from R & D to production then repair...

Chris must think the "bar code" scanners are robots...which make it much easier on the cashier...no more manual cash registers and old "sales tax" charts to manually calculate the tax...

If a business does not stay competitive, it won't be a business for very long.

More 'Luddite' than 'Marxist.'

The sales at CVS are better with coupons.  I get more things for free at CVS than I do at Walgreens.

This conservative will have nothing to do with Walgreen's. I was treated like shit by an employee one time, and it was backed up by her supervisor.

Walgreen clerks are rude to me when they see me come in with coupons.  They irritate the crap out of me.  They follow me from aisle to aisle to see what I am doing.  It's really disheartening to see employees treat someone like that.  I'm not stealing, just trying to save a few bucks in this crap economy.  CVS doesn't blink an eye when I come in with all of my coupons.  The employees only ask if I need help with something if I am walking past them or happen to go into an aisle they are working in.  Last time I was in Walgreens was probably three months ago.  I used to go every week.

I use Target for our meds. They're nearly nationwide in case we forget one (like dumb-ass ME did last year), and they're friendly and cooperative.
